Itunis
I think that's the "main event" so to speak. It's northward progress will gradually slow down as its eastward progress gradually increases... but I'm thinking it should make it to State College at least. If so, that would be at least a couple hours of mod-heavy snow. OK, cool. We're still getting it at a decent clip with the nice band past us so I'm pretty excited to see what that will bring (if it does make it here). Heading to the stadium around 2, so I might get to experience it at the game Wow, nice band is parked right over our house: http://www.wundergro...ls=1&rainsnow=0 My house is right above the first "t" in Stormstown, big flakes Yeah, that band is going nowhere fast. Congrats! Tire tracks in the parking lot are still filling in, so I think the heavy band dropped temps enough to allow some nice accum. to happen. Eskimo Joe
Thundersnow in Harrisburg according to Jim Cantore and WGAL met Drew Anderson. Sterling and State College radar shows what appears to be a CCB developing from Winchester, VA to Hagerstown, MD north to Gettysburg / Chambersburg / Bloomfield in PA. Locations to the south and east of this band may see a brief decrease in the precipitation rates before snow picks up around 2 - 4pm. I do not expected a total stoppage. Ya that band from MDT to northern franklin county is doing some business. It is Absolute creation here right now. 2" per hr stuff. No thunder yet here though. Mallow
What's causing the smaller band parked over me? Curious. I think that's just the "pivot point" forming. It just so happens that the band timed itself perfectly to pivot right when it got to you. But I could easily be wrong!

Might be my weenievision playing games with me but looks like some heavier returns building on the W end of the band? With Nward progression slowing like you said and a more W to E motion beginning, that might have some good implications for us.
EasternUSWX
It is snowing so hard. It doesn't even snow this hard in winter. lol. If it did it would be like 4" per hr.

So far it seems like the HRRR has done reasonably well, and if we're to believe it coming up, we still have quite a bit to look forward to. Eskimo Joe
I hereby dub this the "Eskimo Express". Moderate snow, all surfaces snow covered. Mallow
By the way, the Euro needs to be congratulated with this storm. Other than a couple runs where it backed off, it's been extremely consistent with the progression of the storm, and even in the near-term it seems to have been one of the more accurate models. JamieOber
3.3 here now, 32.8. Snow back down to a bit under 1 mile vis. That was quite cool. Also, it really does look like that heavy band to our south is building west.

MAG5035
Tailgating the psu game and its ripping...would guess like three inches. How radar look downstream? That heavy band that came thru Harrisburg is trying to press up into State College. Right now it's just south of a line from Lewistown to Selinsgrove. It does seem the pivot is starting to happen as the precip edge to the southwest is starting to hold it's ground, so I would count on seeing steady snow at least for the first part of the game. I cant wait to see this on TV. Anyone ever remember a college snowstorm game in University Park?
