CT Rain
Just looking at the higher res GFS stuff and this is just total weather porn. It's absolutely a jaw dropping storm. The weird thing is this looks like a winter storm we'd remember if it occurred in January or February. Pre-halloween has got to be a 1 in multi-hundred year event. amarshall
Hence the great lease deal! Sold to Spyker and actually today sold to the Chinese
Logan11
I think Spyker out of Holland or something was supposed to be buying them..or maybe along with some Chinese or Indian people. Sweden wants them to survive to save the jobs, etc. Remember the 80's when every 30-something Yuppy Babyboomer wanted one of those classic look Saabs. Hence the great lease deal! mahk_webstah
Why would it be coming in stronger? What are the models seeing? More tempature constrast? better developed shortwave? less kicker therefore more time to develop? Eric did you say it slows down in the GOM? I'm not sure I've ever heard you this excited. Truly a once in a lifetime event if it happens as progged, boxing day will be a distant memory. I just read an article comparing Saab to Volvo - and that their fates were determined by the buyer... Saab was bought by an entrepreneur named Muller (of Spyker) and Volvo got bought by a Chinese conglomerate. But I guess there is news from today about another deal... good lord, the Chinese own everything now!

toller65
Margusity bullish with his Eastern MA call. 3-6 down to the cape. 6-12 for all of upstate mass, all of CT except immediate coast and western half of RI. Did he have a call for Southern Maine?

Have you upped your call yet? I'm at 5-10 but thinking 6-12 or 8-14 might do it.

CoastalWx
The fact that the low goes se of NY and the dynamics go through the roof might allow that ra/sn line to come awfully close to the NYC area and stay there. As long as the low does not go too far nw...this may change to snow down there quicker than we think. Something to watch anyways down there. Love the pre-94 classic Saabs. Totally underappreciated. Stick a turbo in there with a manual transmission, and you have a really fun driving car. HIPPYVALLEY
Yeah NYC could get pummeled. LGA could be +RA while JFK is +RASN and NYC is +SN That would catch an awful lot of people off guard. I'm sure that except for the weenies very few people in the NYC area are taking an Oct. snow forecast seriously. Mayhem in Manhattan.
