michsnowfreak
I didnt bother much when the old ncep site changed to that new crap, because I just check the models with MOS and meteograms in the warm months. With snow season approaching, I must ask...wheres the best place to get the GFS/NAM maps now?
hm8
For me its between http://www.instantweathermaps.com/ and http://www.twisterdata.com/ Twisterdata has a bit of an easier to use layout and the maps are sometimes nicer looking and you can get Skew-T Maps anywhere you click, but instantweathermaps' speed (both the time it takes to load the maps and how quickly its available to see as the model is running) is pretty much unmatched. Cool. I did not realize Twisterdata.com was free. Sometimes I use http://coolwx.com/ptype/ or http://ready.arl.noaa.gov/READYcmet.php for precipitation totals
