2011 Winter Banter Thread

What I'd like to ask is this: Why on earth do we have a Winter Banter Thread here in the Mid Atlantic in LATE OCTOBER? Anyone?

Yeah. I am NOT biting, if at all, until Saturday morning at 3am. It is too damned early in the season to be a snow weenie.

Admittedly - I AM extremely obsessed with Battle Pirates on Facebook - I am about to hit level 30 - in only 5 months of playing - and I am not yet ready for snow

Does anyone buy the NAM? This storm will have a heavy impact on my financial income since that comes from landscaping services, I may go around a few neighborhoods today and offer folks my card if tree damaging snow looks likely.

Could be good for my Home stand by generator business too.

I have several used gasoline generators for sale if you know of anyone?

If I were to drive anywhere within an hour of IAD/Ashburn, where would the best spot be? Saw a few people mention Sugarloaf. May do that. How about Winchester?

Not much elevation there. Get off I66 at the Linden exit and drive into FR through Linden. 1000' elevation and natural cold spot. Will certainly see accumulation through there. If you want to come all the way into FR, turn onto 522 S and drive about 6 miles out and you'll get to Chester's Gap. Elevation there is about 1600 ft. Snow will be accumulating there. During the Dec 5 2009 event, while in town limits of FR there was about 4-inches of snow on the non-paved surfaces, I drove out there, pulled off onto a side road, got out of my car and found snow that was mid-shin deep. Can't go wrong out there.

THOUGHT I POSTED REPLY EARLIER?

2 - 8000 WATT WITH 14HP VANGUARD ENGINE.. $ 475 EACH

1 10000 WATT WITH 20HP HONDA ENGINE $ 700

1 15000 WATT (HEAVY USE) 18HP $ 475

Units are in storage in my barn in WV so road trip to see the snow and pick up generator? :snowman:

Yeah it got moved here for good reason. #2 is one that a friend might be interested in so I'm going to make a call.

And did you change price on it? ;)
