ORH_wxman
lol.. Kevin better put his shovel away and get the rain gauge out on the GFS..... everyone for that matter. Could this turn into a NNE snowstorm AWOT What are you talking about...the GFS looks like a lot of other guidance.
weathafella
I don't like accumulating snow on the cp in October. I have seen Will's rationale but for Boston it's a damper on winter. JMHO. With that said...I'm a weenie so....bring it! Snow cover on both sides of the pole is looking way better. I was in Birmingham,AL since Sunday...just back today. The cool raw day feels great! Cold Miser
http://www.theweathe...m/thermo/skewt/ I'll make it easy for you. That red line is the modeled temp profile of the atmosphere. The scale on the left is in millibars but notice you have meters there too. Notice the lines that slant up and to the right. Those are isotherms. Just follow that red line up through the atmosphere and you can see how it crosses the corresponding isotherms. Way late I know, but thanks for the tips on this. Nah, he is probably from Ridgefield or something 20 minutes away and a shade under 800 asl, higher terrain in fairfield cty will accumulate over the next 4 days. CapturedNature
The Davis works fine..just the connection to the mesomap won't link up I'm telling you, give Cumulus a try. Here's a link right to the download file: http://sandaysoft.com/download/CumulusSetup.exe Download it, then install it. Plug your Davis in and it will recognize it and start retrieving data from it. Then click on Configuration and select Internet. Check the box for Wunderground, enter your ID and password and you'll be on the map within an hour. CT Rain
One thing to watch is some bad snow growth tomorrow. The NAM at 21z looks good at first look for BDL and ORH but there's a dry tongue above 600mb (where the -10c isotherm is) that could be problematic. ski MRG
Looks like Will was right back mid-month when he said the end of the month would cut into any early month positive departures. Looks well below normal to close out the month.
CT Rain
My forecast now includes a slushy inch of accumulation for Kevin and the rest of the NW and NE hills of CT. Further north I think 1-3" in the hilly terrain of western and central Massachusetts... maybe a spot 4" amount in some of the higher spots >1500 or 2kft.
