That is just ugly. Very very ugly. I guess it is better to be warm now while temps can routinely get into the 60s and low 70s than have this during good snow fall months. 77F today was so nice and warm, we could see 75F tomorrow here if we can get any sun.

Interesting. I recall JB used to use the adage "What happens in November, the winter remembers." I looked and the two warmest Novembers on record are 1931 and 2001. The winters that followed both of those were very mild. I'm not saying that will be the case this go-around, but it's an interesting correlation anyways. I wonder what ENSO was like those years.

I thought it was what happens in December the winter remembers.

1931-32 and 2001-2002 were torches up in Toronto and Ottawa as well. Total busts. Tress were starting to bud in january 2002.

Interesting how torch Decembers (if that is indeed where we are headed) have happened once every 5 years for the past 15. 1996, 2001,2006...2011?

You think the worst all the time lol.

Dec 1996 may hve been a torch but it featured near normal snowfall where Dec 01 and 06 were just plain f-ked.

Lets take your "theory" a bit further back.

Dec 1991 was actually fairly near normal with above normal snowfall. Dec 86 was warm and dry (snow), Dec 81 was near normal and slightly below normal snowfall wise, Dec 76 was cold and snowy, Dec 71 was warm but snowy and lastly Dec 66 was warm and dry.

Its an interesting theory but no science behind it lol.

I do think the first 10-15 days of December wil be warmer than normal but I expect a different conclusion the second half as the -PNA/+EPO begin to relax a bit.

Lots of walking with the feet in the water at beaches this thanksgiving. Alek might want to get one last wax job on the chest before then.

LAKE MICHIGAN WATER TEMPERATURES...

CHICAGO SHORE...49.

CHICAGO CRIB...49.

MICHIGAN CITY WEST INTAKE...49.

SOUTH BUOY...50.

Mid to upper 40's for ORD and MKE on T-day. Enjoy your hypothermia.

It wasn't meant to be a theory or based on science. It was just an observation.

Roll them jeans up.. heavy, heavy vitamin d exposure hanging the christmas lights with a basic cig in mouth and a can of Busch sitting on the ladder.

Ah, T-day in Wisconsin. Sounds like a hoot.

Anywho, I'll post pics of T-day around the pool. Or pond. Not a lot of rich folk in these parts...

Congrats Bowme and Tim on seeing your first 0.1". I'm clearly not paying close enough attention.

To much PBR and slept through it.. woke up to snow on the west side of the grass blades on its death bed. Mt Saukville had a nice coverage. Hopefully by mid dec we'll all be in winter mode for the duration.. Prob going to be a slower start to the spoilage of last dec/'s

I was very observant but did not see a drop of snow accumulate. The airport must have been the lucky ones lol (though not as lucky as the North Shore and Mt Saukville.

You have 0.1" already? Nice. We were nearly in the center of the deformation band last week with moderate snow and still couldn't manage anything measurable lol. :arrowhead:

Yeah, we had a pretty good burst of snow that coated the roof/car tops with that storm last week. I still had had some snow on my car the following morning.

I see IND has put flurries in my forecast. Any snow is welcome snow. :)

Wednesday Night: A chance of flurries after 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 31. West northwest wind around 6 mph.

Thursday: A chance of sprinkles and flurries before 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 43. West wind between 8 and 14 mph.
