The temblor occurred at 8:16 p.m. at a depth of 5.6 miles. According to the Geological Survey, the epicenter was three miles from Albany, three miles from Emeryville and 11 miles from San Francisco City Hall. aslkahuna Posted October 21, 2011 Share Posted October 21, 2011 Epicenter is on the Hayward Fault. Can't say if these are foreshocks or just random events. I wouldn't diss the Bay Area's tectonics as they could pull out a 7+ at any time. A 5.8 is strong jolt as I know from experience but SFO has had them up to 7.7.
