Noticed that Okemo is planning to open nov 19th, I dont see how I think thats a bit ambitious, any word on killington or Stowe?

It's a good thing mountain operations aren't populated with pessimistic nay saying Warministas.

LOL most people use it for the chat feature or to stay in touch with old friends. I use it for school purposes as well. I don't post useless updates like "Mowing the lawn...then off to do errands...then to the movies"...no one cares.

All my old friends have my telephone number and e-mail address. If they want to reach me that's how to do it. Twitter, pfftt.

Wind is cranking here, but seems like a weak low exists over se mass. Wind at GHG is light north as is PYM, but HYA having south winds now.

Wind has been pretty stiff here out of the NE. Gusty at times. Its been about 040 for most of the evening.

Understandable. But I've had teachers who have asked us to friend them. lmaosmiley.gif

That is just dumb...they are asking for trouble.

I do wish there was sort of a teacher/student/parent version that was secure and transparent. The liability is huge.

I prefer to be seen as a backwoods hermit who is clueless...they are half right

But I ski for free this year!

When I was a substitute, some of the students friended me in class on their smartphones despite my objections. I can see problems with Facebook used at a professional setting, though being at a small boarding school I also see the importance of being a friend to your students, especially when dealing with those who struggle as I do. I would never advertise my Facebook account as a teacher, however, very poor etiquette. If the students find it on their own devices, then you deal with it. Luckily 3G doesn't reach us here much in Rindge so we don't deal with those concerns.

Just an ugly night out. 50/49 with rain squalls. Disgusting. My laundry barely made it back to the apartment dry.

Yeah...how do you like it up there Nate?

It was only one teacher...and it was the only class that I've only gotten below the B range in (77 :() so maybe it says something about the teacher.

I could see friending teachers after you graduate...

Why do you get to ski for free?

Just a follow-up to Ryan's blog entry, BDL had 1.03" of rain from this event as of midnight putting them at 58.14" for the year. This puts them ahead of 2005 and in 6th all-time. Still over 7" to beat 2008 but it's definitely within the realm of possibility. Anyone know how other SNE climo stations look w.r.t. records in the rainfall department?
