powderfreak Posted October 20, 2011 Share Posted October 20, 2011 Yeah I'm just a few miles west of him but up several hundred feet and its noticeably different. The even higher hills at 1,000-1,300 feet are losing much of their foliage. When I drive east on 290, there's a definite difference in foliage...they are about a week behind I think. I bet today's rain knocked a bunch of leaves down as well.. That heavier rain we got late last week really did it for is up here. Stowe is aiming for the 19th as well...historically a bunch of the major resorts go for that weekend before thanksgiving. A lot can happen between now and then and really all you need is 72 hours of straight snowmaking. I have no doubt it will be down to the wire. If we can't make the 19th then we'll try for the 23rd which is the Wednesday before Turkey Day. After that it's as soon as possible and a day by day decision. LOL most people use it for the chat feature or to stay in touch with old friends. I use it for school purposes as well. It's still mostly seasons pass holders but it is better than the early Dec weekends.
