eyewall
I am in NC but counted 7 in about a 15 minute period just after midnight last night. Some nice green and orange ones and one or two left some nice trails.
LMolineuxLM1
This morning Via Meteor Scatter Radio. This is what the Meteor Showers can do with FM radio. Just have to find an open station and record it. WPLZ-Lee-6AM-MS-12-14-2010-953FM.mp3
earthlight
Just saw several of them. Odd how the beauty of the falling meteor is in its brevity. They'd not be so captivating were they otherwise.
A-L-E-X
the fireballs and bollides are nice too, as are the ones that change direction as they are falling.
aslkahuna
Important to note-the hourly rates reported from observers is usually converted to the ZHR (Zenithal Hourly Rate) which is the rate for when the radiant is overhead in a dark sky with a limiting visual magnitude of 6.5. Observing from a City and the suburbs will not meet the second criterion hence one will see less than half of the hourly rate or nearly none from a light infested location. I observed for a while and saw about 60/hr from Tucson which has a dimmer sky than most cities due to lighting ordnances to protect the nearby Observatories which was about half the reported rate for the same time my limiting magnitude was about 4.5-5.0.
