TheTrials
if that happens, I will cry uncle! Hear what you are saying about things not missing, but have a hard time seeing how it comes straight north when usually precip off hatteras tends to slide northeast.... you're focussing on the wrong batch. The convection will fire west of that blob you are looking at.

You can feel the instability in the air. When the stratoform precip passed, an extremely tropical airmass was put in place.

RUNNAWAYICEBERG
Some more precip breaking out over the delmarva, even some convection it appears. The last few bands to come through were far more tropical than the rains this morning. true...i see the banding and the pop up convection. looking at danbury airport data, humidity is at 98% with dewpoint in the lower 60s. pretty tropical for late oct. earthlight
Today should be a good example as to why it's never a smart idea, in meteorology, to call an event over before the storm is gone. Also a good example to make considering those posts would have been instantaneously deleted if this were winter.

H2Otown_WX
I have to say I thought it was the NAM that handled this event poorly originally printing out way too much QPF yesterday. Turns out, it was the GFS that choked:
