CoastalWx
It usually stops when the weather gets interesting. This pattern has been so boring. Maybe we'll get some extreme rainfall in a 6 hour period on Wednesday. I know...it's just one extreme or the other with temp talk..lol. Would be nice if it actually would feel like fall. I love those cool October days where you just throw on a sweatshirt. I'm still in shorts and flip flops. Hopefully that changes after day 10 or so. ORH_wxman
I would rather some action, but that's just me. Not only that, I doubt we have much of a shot at top 3 warm autumn anyway. Final 7-10 days of Oct are going to chew into the positive departures most likely and it will just end up being a very warm autumn, but nothing really challenging records. Early November doesn't look particularly warm either...kind of seasonal, though obviously that could change as we get closer.

Yeah relatively boring I guess..maybe we can muster up another coastal like the GFS op hints at, towards the end of the month. How 'bout that Miller B on the op run........ ski MRG
You have been saying that for 4 months Pete. Playing Quaker Ridge tomorrow down in Westchester, sunny temps around 70, does not get any better than that! Bad hair days wed and thur, by the way sorry about the Bills Crocodile tears. I'm cheering the Phins tonight even though I hate them. Before you start crowing about a win, remember, the Jets will be playing a high school team. Nice. You do have a great little nook there if you're holding at 53F Other temps in the area... 53F at 2,000ft in Peru 57F at 1,450ft on Chester Hill 59F at 930ft in Huntington I was reporting live from 2k. It was cool and windy all day though a bit of sun in the afternoon took the edge off the wind. West Chesterfield grows angry More like West Chesterfield is amused by your lack of faith. We'll have a solid above normal snowfall Winter excvept over Hubbardston and equatorial Southern CT. I was joking with Steve (ginx) but just ask Pete MRG, huge winter incoming! No snow for you blasphemer. I know...it's just one extreme or the other with temp talk..lol. Would be nice if it actually would feel like fall. I love those cool October days where you just throw on a sweatshirt. I'm still in shorts and flip flops. Hopefully that changes after day 10 or so. Wow, you live in a different world . weatherMA
Wow, you live in a different world . LOL. Were you all bundled up for the high of 55F today at 2K? Sweatshirt, coat, hat, gloves, scarf, warm boots? Maybe 4-5 layers on a day like today? Instead of pretending it's below freezing...embrace it. It was below freezing today at 2K. Below normal for life.
Snowstorms
Yeah relatively boring I guess..maybe we can muster up another coastal like the GFS op hints at, towards the end of the month. How 'bout that Miller B on the op run........ Hmm the storm this week is so f*cking sick. Hopefully there's one like this in the Winter but slightly further East Instead of getting 30-50cm ( 12-20") of snow I'm getting a sh!t ton of piss..1-2 inches of rain. The storms on the long range GFS look inspiring for the Winter, haha. Models develop some kind of -NAO/-AO in the last 5 days or so of October with a slightly +PNA. There's the possibility of seeing a rivaling storm to this current one developing around that time frame. The temperature gradient will be key for development IMO. Surely by then it should be cooler in general and climatically as well so it should be interesting. I do how ever think we'll see a warm-up of some sort in the first 10-12 days of November. Mr Torchey
When do we think BOX will hoist HWW for Wed/Wed nite for all of SNE? I'm guessing late tomorrow Tomorrow night, OKX expecting gusts 45-50 and a wind advisory, being the trees are still 90% foilated down here, major major damage on the way , including coastal flooding in the western sound as east winds pile the water up. Huge deal down here.
CT Rain
When do we think BOX will hoist HWW for Wed/Wed nite for all of SNE? I'm guessing late tomorrow I don't see much Wednesday for wind. I think our strongest gusts (maybe advisory) are late Wednesday night and Thursday out of the west/southwest.

Haven't even broached the idea of pants yet except for work. Other than that if it's in the 50s to near 60 it 's still shorts wx with a long sleeve in the AM and at night. weatherMA
Really?, we were at coed softball all day yesterday, every body had sweatshirts on. With the wind it was cool today...but without the wind it was 62F and sunny...probably comfortable w/ shorts and a tee. Of course, different story when the sun goes down. Meh, a matter of preference.
