Ginx snewx
They would have had to pay like tens of millions of dollars though, which makes me skeptical. But if they did, kudos to them. Just looked it up, current value of wunderground is 42 million
ORH_wxman
I wouldn't be as worried with the board as I would be as ECMWF complaining to your employer. I'm sure the agreement that your company has with ECMWF has a clause in it about the data not being reproduced even if the graphics are being made by your own system... it is their data afterall. Thickness and RH data is made available to the public though...he just makes them look better with WSI graphics. The qpf stuff is the type of data that we'd want to avoid. HoarfrostHubb
So it is ok to post WU screen captures of Euro stuff? Or no... Not that I would post any of it. I do appreciate when you more knowledgable folks analyze them... I can't wait for the first winter threat

They seem to be a bit more easygoing lately. They used to be following our threads like hawks on Eastern when we were briefly offering the Euro MDA maps. In the last year or 2 they've made some of their ens data public as well as d8 through 10. Now it seems most of the affordable image sites for the hobbyists provide QPF, 2m temps, etc as well. I think we've had a few ECMWF ISPs here, but nothing like in years past.

Apparently, after reading some stuff, wunderground is paying about 1/2 million for that but for a site that makes 15k a day, chump change
OKpowdah
Too bad that didn't verify. But even still, this was one of the most epic short term shifts in model guidance (in a positive direction) of my life
CoastalWx
I noticed the QPF on wunderground doesn't always completely agree with what I see on WSI. Part of it is the 3 hr time interval, but taking that into account..it seems more generous at times on wunderground.
