I don't remember the Easter storm but it may have been rain where I was growing up and snow up here in SNE.

2/4/61 was the end of the pattern....snowed as hard as it possibly could for 18 hours.....some of the best snow growth I've ever seen...you could literally see the snow accumulating if you looked outside for more than a minute.

I understand this is a snow board for the most part, but these numbers continue to be impressive. Does anyone have the site where I can see how we are stacking up to past warm met autumns region wide, I know Snowman21 in the past has updated, but we are nearing the end, and I was curious.

A week after the blizzard there was the big plane crash..actually two planes collided over NYC..one of the planes crashed in Park Slope Brooklyn..a young boy survived because he fell on a snow bank from the blizzard,,but died a day later in the hospital.think his name was Steven Baltz..during the crash there was light snow and rain falling

In the Feb 61 snowstorm how much did you measure ( the 18hr event with some of the best snow growth you ever witnessed)?

If we can get a few cold days around Thanksgiving it gives more credence to 1993. That was the year of the Leon Lett play in Dallas. ...can't remember the specifics...lol.

By late in the first week of December, we were torching big time and I was nearly in tears (closer to Kevin's age then....). We then had some violent swings before the hammer finally dropped more or less for good right after Christmas.

Up in Ontario, I recall there wasa cold shot around November 20,1993. i was in Grade 8, in Scouts and had a camping trip that weekend. We woke up to snow flurries the Saturday morning. The first half of December 1993 was mild, except for a brief arctic cold shot around December 11. The hammer dropped, as you said, around December 21-23, and what a cold shot - one of the most incredible fronts of all time. December 26 saw a high of -18C (0F) in Toronto and an astounding high of -26C in Ottawa and Montreal. 1993-94 also ended up being quite snowy, in the top 10 for ottawa I believe. Dream winter.
