Love UFC. Much better than pro team sports where these guys are guaranteed millions before the season starts. These guys have reason to put in 100% effort.

77F high in Stowe after a low of 38F... almost a 40F swing in temperatures today! Dropping quickly and will be back into the low 40s by morning. Classic mountain valley weather... temperature never stays at the same level for more than 15 minutes; its always going up or going down and usually rapidly.

You need someone to QC that station...

Do you think ORH breaks 80?

I think it was my own crappy thermometer in error...its usually pretty close, but on a day like today, it may have been near some foliage still spewing a lot of moisture. On dry days like today is probably when its most vulnerable.

I'd be surprised if we didn't crack 80F tomorrow.

A Met buddy of mine was noting that there were odd pockets of cool left over; he also noted that the wind was calm in a lot of those places. The warm air came in so fast that it was probably dry WAA just off the deck; and with weak gradient, pocketed inversion has/had yet to mix out. Tomorrow should have a slightly more gradient and a bit more homogenized temperature outcome should result.

In other words, it may not have merely been your thermometer just the same.

I was kinda surprised they made it to 77F. I made it to 79F but they are usually 4F or so cooler then here. Awesome day, just perfect really. Too bad I have to work all day tomorrow, I'll only have Monday to enjoy the TORCH.

I'm on duty this weekend too; the teacher needs a break! Been working 60-70 hours/week.

Haven't checked the classroom weather station but AFN made it to 77F. They're at similar elevation as ORH with more latitude, so that doesn't sound overly warm.

73.8...Tomorrow GC hits 80!!

BOX has us as "upper 70's". Of course, we can't interpret their forecast literally.

:arrowhead:

53/51, a high of 74, a beautiful Autumn day. The Ashfield Fall Festival was very crowded.

As it turns out, we're going to go tomorrow. Our daughter was invited to a play with a friend today instead. Beautiful here.

Looks like the Pit gets the award for the warmest in Mass (62.6/47). Amazing the difference between here and the Housationic Valley (is that waht that is on the other side of the hills??).

Yes it is.

Some 49s and 50s showing up in N ORH county/SW NH now too...anyone who decouples can get pretty cool tonight while it might have trouble getting below 60F on the hilltops. Or at least lower than upper 50s.

ORH and I are neck-and-neck on the drop (or lack thereof). Even Mt. Tolland is down in the 50's.

Temp dipping down here, though. Now 61.8/49--more than half a degree in 15 minutes.

EDIT: dropping quite a bit actually--61.2 now. 1.4* in last than half an hour.

Great day at the beach in Newport on Saturday. Breezes were light...which is kinda rare this time of year when we have warm days because often times warm days in the fall are accompanied by gusty sand blowing SW winds. Last year my last day in the ocean I believe was September 28th...I went in on saturday and the temp was around 62. It felt cold, but it certainly wasn't frigid. The water temp was similar to how it felt around mid-June of this year.

Temp bouncing around this morning, down to 57.8.

Anyone have any idea why my current condition on Wundergournd is not being updated (looks like the last was 6:30)? From the pdfamily site, this appears it might be the case for a series of station in GC on the pdf amily site. My experience is that pdf frequently looses updates, but the Wunderground ones have not been effected. but maybe I haven't looked closely enough.

Amazing difference this morning between hill top locations and lower ones.

http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/gmap.php?zoom=8&extents=40.347948,-74.047363,43.77506,-69.488037&density=1

Amazing to see some sites in the low 60s while some are in the low 40s!

Had a high of 73 yesterday and a low of 45 this morning....nice temperature swing so we'll see if we can break 80 today.
