dan11295
BVY had picked up 2.88" in 2 hours, they are at the very southern fringe now.
snowNH
It looks like MHT to CON is at the top of where the band is rotating which could be bad for here.. this is like Irene type rain

Baroclinic Zone
Not quite. For places east it most certainly is. 2"/hr rates over several hours will do that.
snowNH
Not quite. Look at the swampscott pics.. its really coming down here with the band strengthening in place and rotating in over the coast
dan11295
Not nearly as heavy at MHT though, only got 0.30" there last hour.
HIPPYVALLEY
For places east it most certainly is. 2"/hr rates over several hours will do that. Didn't realize it was that much. I guess part of it is the hills, valleys and streams out here make the water seem more epic when it comes at that rate. What did Boston get? That seems like the kind of rain that would flood the Green Line stations.
CT Rain
The 18z NAM from yesterday absolutely nailed things.
moneypitmike
For places east it most certainly is. 2"/hr rates over several hours will do that. The combined population in just a few of those eastern Mass towns probably exceeds the entire population of GC, so the 'people impact' is greater. Cold Miser
The suicidal rain and clouds continue. It's been so freaking damp over the past (insert number of weeks here) that there's mold forming on the north side of my house.

One of my neighbors is an amateur mycologist and he has seen fungus species that he has never seen before. I'm just grateful we're in one of the only sandy neighborhoods in Greenfield. Much of the town/area is red clay and basements have not dried for weeks.
Allenson
No heavy rains up here so far today--just a few showers and the typical ceaseless drizzle. Not sure if any of that heavy stuff will rotate this far west today or not. Time'll tell. The suicidal rain and clouds continue. Allenson
New England - the new Pacific NW. And the funny thing is that I was just out on the San Juan Islands of Washington and it was as dry as a popcorn fart--hadn't had any substantial rain out there in weeks. Although, I understand they've had some since we were there....
snowNH
It looks like the band either stopped moving latitudely or is coming back South a bit.. Estimated radar looks like 2-2.5 throughout SNH with a long way to go

New England Storm
It was crazy rain early morning in Halifax as that band was headed north. No wonder the north had so much flooding when the storms stalled. How and or why did the storms get stuck? Some kind of front?
Cold Miser
One of my neighbors is an amateur mycologist and he has seen fungus species that he has never seen before. Have him come over to my place, and he can add to the uncharted fungus list. No doubt. I have green algae and fungus sprouting on the deck. It's freaking bad news. The wood has become so damn soft, and to make matters worse, the f*cking chickens are pecking at the moist wood thinking it's something to snack on.
