I was serious, Tor outbreak and your thread was dead. Sub forums FTL

it wasnt dead per se but not amazingly active. i was covering capital weather so i didnt really have time to post here much. plus the main show was c va and south and those guys don't often post in the main threads anyway for some reason. but yeah, subforums ftl.

It would be cool if there was some sort of "hot topics" section up top or on the right margin where mods could promote certain threads so they could be seen board-wide. I know that I've missed out on weather events because I'm linked straight to the Mid Atlantic board. I go and check W&F most of the time, and Central/Western some, but not the other boards. And "View New Content" is cluttered with the OT threads.

yeah that might nice. we tried that by hand during irene but i guess it would be harder to do all the time that way.

I'll second that notion, and go a little farther. It would be cool if we could go back to the way that it used to be with one main forum and regional threads. Just my opinion.

Dead? I thought it was busy, we had people from another subforums in here posting! That has to count for something!

Considering there were no real indications a day or 2 in advance it was busy to some extent. If we were in a slight to mod spc risk a day or 2 in advance then the thread would have been smoking.

Since it was pretty much a surprise event, the thread was reactionary moreso than proactionary. jmho. Calling it a fail isn't really fair.

I think we are becoming a see it to believe it area. And I agree that it caught most of us off guard. There were people posting but it also hit around rush hour and that also may have kept some from commenting until later

In retrospect probably should have had more pre show attention. Pretty classic trough location mixed with extra vorticity from a remnant pseudo tropical low. October is tricky tho. Plus we get tornadoes all the time these days.. NBD.

Well - I usually am a big poster during severe but I was in the hospital and I was too lazy to hop online.

trough is getting closer to another tornado favorable one for wed. that plus a brief surge of dews to 60 or so.

right now it looks like it would favor east -- tho maybe 95 is an OK line/there south and east. se va/eastern nc actually looks pretty solidly impressive for this range. wildcard is extent of coastal cyclogenesis i suppose, at least up this far north.

I didn't see any tornados, so I don't believe they happened. Can't believe the newspeople, either.

Becoming more and more convinced that these two systems aren't going to fully get together and were going to be dry slotted rather quickly by the closing off H5 low. If we want somthing big to happen, that system in FL needs to get going and fast...

Models have backed off the precip totals considerably.

It looks like DC could be wedged in with ne winds, so might be tough. Maybe along the MD shore, has better potential. However, one last hurrah after 00z tomorrow night with the forcing from the s/w??
