Ian
This has been the weirdest year for thunderstorms I can remember. Strange setups, synoptics, strange movements not the typical west to east or something like it. I have had close to 40 thunderstorm days this year much more than last. I should update the DCA count. We were way above the 30-yr avg back in Jul/Aug. Of course that counts days with thunder and no rain and we've managed to get missed by some of the best stuff this yr. Today was pretty solid though.. I wish I was outside for it. Oct only avgs 1 day of t-storm a yr last 30. There are some notable tornado events in this range though so while not common to get a lot of storms we're back into a brief window with digging troughs and some warmth/moisture around. mattie g
This looks a lil familiar -- http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=LWX&product=NCR&overlay=11101111&loop=yes After the damage from Irene and Lee, I'd prefer no more training storms. Really.

ThePhotoGuy
Taking pictures along the water of the moon got me pulled over for "suspicious activity." The cop was real nice. I just told him I was taking pictures and he started to talk about how bright the moon was.
