I guess when you've been getting plastered year after year you run out of ways to describe it. LOL..

The thread is ridiculous...they're like " 11"....only 1.5/hr rates now....dammit, terrible echos, band is weakening" I'm like...:blahblah:

If only we had a SE snowstorm with those kind of numbers...it's been a while!

It does crack me up. I guess you can get spoiled a bit after getting 50+" of snow for years on end. I've never seen that much in any whole winter I've been a part of. LOL

Oh yeah and I learn another "snow term"....."death band". That was brought up over and over.

First freeze here in Dahlonega...28.9.

Officially made it into the 20s this morning!! Low at the house was 29.9. First freeze and real widespread frost. Ended up with just under 0.5 inches of rain Friday and Saturday. Perfect October weather for WNC, but nothing compared to New England:

The NE thread has been a blast to read. Some of those guys in the Berkshire Mts. just have an ungodly amount of snow. Somewhere between 2 and 3 feet! I know it's a different world when I'm looking at their sigs and seeing snowfall broken down by month and totals above 100". If I broke my snowfall down my month it would look something like this:

Oct: 0 | Nov: 0 | Dec: 1 | Jan: 3 | Feb: T | Mar: 2 | Apr: 0 | May: Are you kidding me? You're still measuring snow in May?!!

It's a fun read, though. I love the pictures. I just hope to be able to experience something like that someday. March 1993 is the closest I've ever come to 2 feet. And this storm is occurring in October!! Truly epic! The snow was "ripping"!! And it's true the "death band" made several long appearances over western MA. When is our "death band" going to show up?

:snowman:

It has never bothered me that the northeast gets snow. I mean it's new england for crying out loud. But it sickens me when the mid atlantic gets hit, especially with something historic like this past storm. Yet no matter how good they have it they will complain. Ugh...just damn ugh :axe:

Made it down to 27.8 this morning with heavy frost.

First frost/Freeze of the season here. Made it down to 28 with plenty of frost on the roof.

Been interesting reading the NE thread... Im amazed at that storm. This is one of those storms where the young kids now will be telling thier future children/grandchildren. Absolutely un real at some of those amounts.

Hopefully they can give us SE folks some good Karma this year. I honestly wouldn't mind having a storm of the Jan 2000 magnitude around here again. Would be nice though to have a 10-20" snowpack from one storm.
