FLweather
No token flakes... But I am watching that precip band develop around Martinsville. If it does it will be that band along the 850 front with them temp drops. .7" of rain currently
Carvers Gap
Pretty amazing this event played out the way it did...considering the NAO. Maybe it's getting ready to take a dip into negative territory and this storm is the result. The trough "appears" to be trying to set-up shop out west for a short time on the 0z Euro. That looked a bit different this morning. The GFS is still brings troughing into the plains and then moves it eastward.

Local Yokel Wx
Got off the Pkwy (arrived 7:15am) and was in a flizzard with intermittent light snow till I got down the mtn. I went right below Waterrock Knob around 5800'. No accumulations to write home about. But hey still cool to see snow fall in Oct! That makes it twice for me this month and my snow chase record is 2/3 (couldn't find a flake on 10/2).

tnweathernut
1.18 inches or rain from the system, with the majority .80 falling yesterday during the day hrough the late afternoon. Temps bottomed out at 37.7 here in north Johnson City. Overall, it appears the system overperformed here wrt total qpf. Hopefully we can get a few of these to track like this from late November through early January. As a side note, it was fun to track something so early. I have said it before and I will say it again..............there is nothing like the southeast forum! Have a great day all.

I ended up with 0.25" of rain. I got to 44, and picked up a solid 1/4 inch. I was suprised actually, but got under some training showers about 1am that did the trick. Would have taken a long time to build up that much with the dripping I had been getting...it hadn't even been able to build up to a decent drizzle prior to the showers, lol. sdrin
I got 1.8" of rain yesterday, which was way more than I expected. It's great not having to water the hydrangeas and little rhododendrons/azaleas for at least another week. Expecting the first hard frost of the season tonight. Something tells me we'll be hearing a lot from you over the winter With my 44 here that isn't too big a temp difference of a few hundred miles. I'll give you 20 in a few months as long as I get 26. Gastonwxman
.52" total from the event, which puts the monthly total at 2.20" Never dropped below 40 but it certainly felt more like the mid-30s. Also, I'm not quite sure how strong the winds got while I was asleep but I'm surprised it didn't wake me. Turns out it was enough to lift up my car cover and shred it to pieces, blow the porch rug all the way to the middle of the backyard, and tip over a huge and heavy container of dog food.
