I mean, c'mon, I've had sun almost all day here. The clouds are still in pretty much the same damn place all day long. My high was suppose to be 63 and I'm almost at 68. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gifgun_bandana.gif

Patience, my friend :) They piled in here in the last half hour like gang busters. Total clouds now, and I was taking pics in the bright sun 20 minutes ago. Of course, these are coming fast from the south west, not what you want to hear, sorry :) Tony

And 71.4 here.

The forecasted high today as of 8am was 62, at 12pm they bumped it to 65, currently it's 67 and rising :(

I've just gotten the fall colors here in the last few days. Yesterday was good, out driving around, but today is amazing.

Shhhhhh... but...I'm thinking I badly want the rain, but maybe just a gentle one so the leaves don't crash, before I go over to Carrollton Sun. usually a very pretty drive in fall peak. 71.6 now...those clouds are packing heat. Tony

It's surreal that I am snowtracking in October!

Everyone, Please be aware we are in Storm Mode and this type of post should be in the banter thread. This thread is for OBS and storm discussion and anything else like this will be removed from here on out. Repeat offenders will be 5-posted, you do not want to get 5-posted.

Where is this cold air everyone was talking about ? Sun is out and its 71 degrees at 2pm. I thought this was going to be a raw, chilly day ? Yesterday my forecast high for today was 56. FFC still says my high this afternoon will be 63.

It's called a bust. LOL. Models really...:gun_bandana:....our CAD temps in the last 3 runs. Delayed the arrival of the CAD front along with pushing the bulk of the precip much further north which basically messes everything up.

Well guess what folks.

Its offically in the 30s--- 39 to be exact. Guess what else....

There has also been a some Rain/Sleet mix falling too. I was outside cleaning the tubs/change the bedding to my feeder rat tubs when the bucket let out. Then I started seeing sleet pellets bounce off the deck. So I guess I can offically say that I've seen something frozen fall out of the sky for the second time in Oct.

The thing that I don't understand is that at 1030 am FFC sent out an update saying the forecast was on track. How can it be on track if it's 10 degrees warmer than forecast ?

One of our employees said the same thing down here in Caldwell/Rougemont (NC57/157). I have not seen anything...

Interesting...

I had to do a double take on it there for a minute. I heard it before I realized to start looking for it bouncing. You can def tell the difference from sleet hitting the leaves than plan rain.

You got any idea what the temp is down that way? I know my name tag thing says the temp but thats at person county airport.

Clearly they probably could have done a better job with that one. There's not much else you can say about it.

74.1 here and jumping a few tenths every few minutes. That will trump cad every time. Warm sw flow vs cold ne flow... love the battle in winter... but it is hard to call who wins the skys over us hours ahead. All about timing here in deep. Great cad material over on the banter thread from Griteater. T

If you are a snow chaser, then Mt Mitchell's forecast looks promising if you choose that to be your target.

".TONIGHT...CLOUDY. PATCHY FOG UNTIL MIDNIGHT. PATCHY FOG AFTER MIDNIGHT. RAIN UNTIL MIDNIGHT. SLEET THROUGH THE NIGHT. SNOW LIKELY AFTER MIDNIGHT. IN THE CLOUDS AT TIMES. LOWS IN THE UPPER 20S. SOUTHWINDS AROUND 15 MPH...BECOMING WEST AFTER MIDNIGHT. .SATURDAY...PARTLY SUNNY. A CHANCE OF SNOW. HIGHS IN THE LOWER 30S.NORTHWEST WINDS 15 TO 30 MPH...INCREASING TO 25 TO 30 MPH IN THEAFTERNOON. GUSTS UP TO 51 MPH. "

Current temp in Mooresville NC is 47.3 with Dew Point at 43.9

Current stations with temperature readings at or below 49F degrees: (temperature is in black, dew point is in blue.)
