down to 43.3 with of gusts over 25 mph and drizzle. its certainly starting to feel like winter :snowman: event total 2.11"

wow you're already dropping like mad. I'm down to 58, after a 64 high. Winds at treetop level are up to around 30 gusts at times, so not bad . If the sun came out more this afternoon, we could really have mixed down some good winds.

6:00pm

Mt Mitchell: 31 degrees

Grandfather Summit: Off Line

Beech Mountain: 32.7

Sugar Top: 32

snow will be flying soon. Moisture is streaming back in. This is one of those situations where the cold is southwest of the chain, and places in the Southeast TN and southwest NC mountains will experience about as much snow as nw NC and NE TN mtns, maybe more.

Down to 44.8 here in Dahlonega. My event total was .96" so it looks like the "double the amount for you" rule is still going to be in effect this winter. LOL :snowman:

Picked up .77 at the nearest station a few miles away. Current temp is 44.5

There was a really nice rainbow this morning that covered the whole sky when the sun was rising and the rain started to fall. I didn't get any pictures because I was driving, but I'll say that it was the first rainbow I've seen in the morning.

Well, that wrap-around squall line passed through without much fanfare. No wind, no heavy rain, no lightning (although I'm seeing some now off to the E and SE.) got an additional .11" in 30 minutes, bringing today's sometimes drizzly total up to .14". Temp peaked out at 70 late this afternoon as the wedge finally eroded as the last line approached.

Not a serious post. :guitar:

While it may not be a serious post, it's interesting to note that models are spitting out storms like this this early in the season. This wont happen, but maybe it's a sign of things to come. I'll tell you though, if this actually happened, it would be record setting to say the least.

Sitting at 35 degrees and light rain/heavy mist. Forecast calling for up to an inch of accumulations by mid-morning.

My four-month old daughter is sick so there's actually a good chance I'll get to see some flakes since sleep is more of a rarity the last few days and probably the next few as well.

Hope your daughter gets well soon. The radar is looking pretty good for the mtns. before pulling north tomorrow.

I live 2 miles from Howard Creek Rd and have no snow to report. May hop in the truck and see what I can find here directly.
