Tim from Springfield (IL)
Might as well get the October severe thread started on an uneventful note as the SPC had the briefest Day 4-8 (Saturday-Wednesday) severe outlook I have ever seen: http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/exper/day4-8/ Anyone think that this month will be quiet on the severe front or could this be the calm before the "second season" gets into gear perhaps by later in Oct.? Thundersnow12
Why don't you wait until we actually have risk before making a thread..

JoMo
There's probably going to be some risk next week (After Oct 5th) but it's unknown where.
Thunder Road
What's the point of having a severe weather thread for the entire month if we also have an obs/disco thread for the entire month? Why not break it into separate events?
Hoosier
Yeah, general severe discussion can go in the general monthly thread until we get closer to an event.
