snowstormcanuck
Closing in on 1/2 inch of rain. Now over 4" for the month. During the last 13 years, only 4 Octobers (not including 2011) here have had >2.50" of rain. And each of the corresponding winters were disasters. One (1999-2000) was a Nina. snowstormcanuck
Just kidding Mike. And boo to that stat you posted above. Time for that to reverse course. No prob. I was going to self-troll myself for that in a couple of days anyways. Small sample size wrt those stats. And even if the sample size was larger, it may be hard to find an actual causal link (one Nina, one Neutral, two Ninos).

nwohweather
I may be wrong but I don't think we've had a frost yet here in NW Ohio which is almost unbelievable. I remember in golf whenever we had an early morning tournament we'd have to wait for the frost to clear almost everytime in October

Just browsing the top ten wettest Octobers, most except for 2006/07 winter sucked here. Hopefully a mere coincidence than actual causation. I remember in golf whenever we had an early morning tournament we'd have to wait for the frost to clear almost everytime in October Here in Milwaukee we have yet to have a frost either. It's very torturous for me b/c there have been 3 or 4 times when we were really close and even had frost advisories, yet just can't get it done near the lake. Allergies in late October sucks. turtlehurricane
Well, back to the cold. In the low 40s in Madison with a boatload of cloud cover. Looks like it'll be drizzling on and off throughout the day. The GFS suggests we'll have some opportunities in the next few days to see light amounts of frozen precip. wisconsinwx
This is one of those days you really yearn for a winter blast where you can at least get snow instead of these mediocre cold shots that end up being drizzly overcast days with temps hovering in the mid-40s.
