Trick or Treating in 3 inches of wet snow in 1989. That was fun! Saw a picture of myself that day in the snow. Everything was plastered with snow.

That was Detroits 2nd biggest October snowfall (2.7"), but it was on October 19th. The largest October snowfall was 2.9" on Oct 27/28, 1980. I remember growing up I heard stories about trick or treating in "deep snow" but records show that has never actually happened on Halloween. The record snowfall on Halloween is 0.1" in 1993 and the record snow depth is a T in 1925. The closest thing to deep Halloween snow would be 6" on Nov 2/3, 1966.

I remember the 93 halloween. It was a couple Inches that fell in Rochester walking around as a Sophmore in High school with my buddies throwing snowballs. I also remember the Lions playing the Sunday Night game against the Vikings. A really cool Halloween

Listening to grunge music or early metalica. Early 90s were EPIC for music.

Eh, 80s music is much better

While Ive seen spring snow cover flowers and spring buds many times, the only time I remember snow on Fall foliage was mid-November 2008, when we had some wet snow and there were some trees by the river that hung onto leaves really late (obviously almost all others were bare). I can never remember snow plastering a full Fall landscape of colors, would have been so cool to see '89 (I was 6).

I will be out of town from Nov 12-20 this year on a cruise, so actually hoping the snow holds off until just before Thanksgiving (at which time it can snow nonstop til Easter :) )

1993 I was probably into... Pearl Jam at the time was my favorite band, Nine Inch Nails, Faith no more, Smashing Pumpkins, Phish, Spin Doctors, Allman Brothers, Alice in chains, Black crowes and Red Hot Chili peppers

Light rain this afternoon and temps in the upper 50s. We're surrounded by 60s so I think we will manage to warm up a bit more from advection alone.

An SWS has been put out for a line of showers and thunderstorms forming in SW Wisconsin, they're saying there might be enough small hail to cover the ground in spots. I'll believe it when I see it.

I remember 1993 too. We had six inches of snow on Halloween in my hometown.

Potent little shortwave swinging through. In fact added ISO T to the grids for us tomorrow night.

Yeah it's definitely got some pop to it. The lightning display has been pretty impressive for late October. Many of the bolts have fanned all the way from one side of the sky to the other fully exposed. Kind of like anvil crawlers underneath a supercell.

The best lightning pictures I got while in the Quad Cities were a fall display, so I'm not surprised.
