mahk_webstah
I was thinking of a very preliminary over/under at 50" for BOS. I'll take the over...Too low Jerry, we are in a snowy multi-year pattern with a moderate nina. I agree with the nyc number though. 93 in Rindge is near average...I think we are above average up this way. 100 is the over/under for webster northfield laconia. Mr Torchey
Absolutely poured last night, radar looks promising we could really use a little sun and strong wind today. Damage In Tolland
What are you going for? 21 minutes? I won't be able to do that. Probably will be more like 23. I typically do 8-9 minute miles on my long runs..so figure I can do a little better than that in 3.1 if I push. I'm not stopping at finish line though..Have to do 12 total today..so will run 9 more on the way home

weatherwiz
Would be kind of interesting if the sfc low either does develop inland or moves inland this afternoon and some spots are able to warm sector and some convection is generated.

weatherwiz
Glad this batch of showers is moving through now. Should be out of CT within the next 2 hours or so then just cloudy (maybe a few breaks of sun) with just pop up showers and maybe a t'storm. Going to the UCONN game today to watch them lose. dendrite
Just remember this weekends cold shot was supposed to be cold..That will likely modify It was cold....it just cutoff and trended to our SW. The cold shot next week is coming straight out of the north. I may not get -5C 850s, as depicted, but I think this one has legs. Half of the GEFS are just as chilly as the Euro op. Mr Torchey
you sure? Upton has us mid 60's today--that will be chilly with the overcast Yeah I am sure 66 today 67 tomorrow, lows of 54 50, these have been bumped up steadily the last few days, its sorta chilly, normal high is 68-69 so its basically normal, but after the torch it will feel really nice, my point was this cold shot this weekend never materialzed due to cold air advecting in from the sw, not an optimum path for cold in early October....mid week looks more beefy direct dishcharge due south from the hinterlands. Ginx snewx
Dave Johnson Sweet it's snowing on Beech Mtn in western NC right now. NCBeech Mt Expect weather more typical of December or January today across the High Country. Northwest breezes and colder air will make it feel quite chilly. In fact we expect to break the record for coldest October 1 by 4-8 degrees today. Clouds will also be around and be accompanied by a few showers this afternoon and tonight. A few snowflakes will probably mix in at times with an inch or two of snowfall accumulation possible above 4500'.
CoastalWx
I know we have been talking about a warmer than normal October, but this latest MJO pulse should be watched. It may....may act to serve to cool off the second half of October. We'll have to see how this progresses. It's an El Nino like pulse of convection in an otherwise La Nina base state. It's been seemingly odd some of what's been going on the past year with certain things...last year too some things were occurring during the Nina that you would normally see associated with a Nino and the Nino a few years ago had some things that you would normally see during Nina years. Especially with the MJO.
