ag3
That was a nice storm last night. Was woken up by rapid lightning, loud thunder and intense rain. The lightning was the best part. Non-stop.

TheTrials
Euro backed off on the huge Miller B. We'll see where that goes. Also shows a giant PNA spike at the end of the run which would be good to get the overall PNA number positive for October which is a good predication for blocking the following winter. donsutherland1
Happy birthday, Andrew. Also of note, the thunderstorm pushed NYC's rainfall total just past the 61.70" recorded in 2007. That makes 2011 the 4th wettest year on record for NYC. Records go back to 1869.
Sundog
Thunder was intense last night woke up the whole family. Lightning looked like a strobe light as well it was constant.

Stormlover74
Yeah it was a pretty cool storm. Interesting how those storms that form to the south of the area and move north always tend to be remain impressive or intensify over our area.... Thunder was intense last night woke up the whole family. Lightning looked like a strobe light as well it was constant.
CoastalWx
That line along the front later today could be interesting. That has the upper level support, could pack some punch.
CoastalWx
That line along the front later today could be interesting. That has the upper level support can could pack some punch. I mean the line maybe 20-22z or so. You can see it on this map. It's the nw-se line pushing into the metro area..shown in lighter blue shading...indicating high RH in this layer. Also unstable out ahead of it. This might not be more than a line of shwrs, but it could feature some cells packing a good punch. SPC WRF has this too. earthlight
That line along the front later today could be interesting. That has the upper level support can could pack some punch. For sure. SPC WRF has been all over it. Any breaks in the clouds would be a bonus as far as destabilization goes. There's some just off the NJ Coast right now trying to work west. A long shot, but it's something. The upper level support is terrific as you mentioned..so we will probably manage something regardless.
