aslkahuna
A band of Training thunderstorms today over Tucson as the one week monsoon continues (in truth the rainfall pattern in terms of duration and amount is very much like what we would see in Sierra Vista during the monsoon). As of right now, Tucson has recorded 1.49 in of rain with heavy rain still falling which puts them at 4.22 for September and 7.24 for the monsoon. As of right now as lightning is blasting about 100-3000 feet away, we have 0.42in at the house which puts us at 3.21in for the month and 6.39in for the monsoon. Average monsoon rainfall for Tucson is 6.08in. Steve
HurricaneJosh
Steve, I was in the SoCal desert over the weekend and early this week, and we were definitely having the monsoon thing-- several days of humidity, evening showers, and sporadic lightning, and then severe thunderstorm warnings, spectacular lightning, and heavy downpours Monday night into Tuesday.
