Massive confusion with the news here... Apparently we had a tornado warning issued at 1103 then expired at 1105?

A new/replaced tornado warning was issued at 11:03 PM EDT and the old warning was expired at 11:05 PM EDT.

Memphis got lucky, but we're concerned that we may end up suffering from the Joplin effect, letting our guard down. The supercell that came through yesterday shared many of the characteristics of a supercell that came through 4 months prior to the day.

Memphis has been very lucky, because we've had 4 discrete supercells, each with an accompanying hook echo, come through the city in the past 18 months, 3 in the last 5 months. In each case, the hook echo came near or over the downtown area. Only one, on May 1, 2010, actually dropped a tornado in the county, which was in a rural area and very weak.

We've been very lucky, and I fear when our luck may run out.
