k***
LOL, because you've just given us plenty to work with in this thread... I'll take the 60 to 140 years of ENSO climo over an armchair forecast with no details, thank you You focus too much on ENSO. Any dweeb can spout Nina climo. It takes an artist to discern subtlties. I'm thinking the success of the Detroit Tigers this year means some good things for the Rocky Mountain region in December. Such are the subtle ways of nature. InstantWeatherMaps
What is your reasoning behind your forecast of a strong Nina? I read it. You're wrong about the sun and some other stuff. Usually when you say something that strongly we prefer that you state your reasoning... or at least mention how he is wrong. "You're wrong about... some other stuff" is considered rude and is a possible sign of wishcasting/bittercasting if there are no numbers to back it up. You say you are using analogs... Would you mind making a temp map of them using the NOAA PSD site?

According to your forecast i can start tomatoes and cukes as well!!!!! I wouldn't recommend it. Remember, I am only forecasting the mean temperature and on any given day the high can deviate from the mean. It's likely that you will have some crop-destroying cold snaps so proceed with caution. brad1551
That was just a first guess. You will have to wait for my october update. There are no facts at all to back the forecast up.. Kush amen to that . I do not have the time at this moment to break down my thoughts for this winter. Everything I have been looking at has shown signs of a weak La NIna. Also buy a good jacket , because this year will be a cold one for more than half of the USA. Have a great day.

Your right. I live in Northern Va and so far what I have read has made me think cold this year and borderline above average precip.I am in college for metoroligy . Long range forecasting is extremely hard to do. So many factors and seems like every couple of models are different from others. Long range is tuff and I am learning . Most of all long range forecasting is fun. Difference between fact and opinion. Just giving an opinion. Thanks

warrinerjr
troll thread by the master troller Completely agree, weather weenies with a middle school education can play in paint and come up with the map that was shown. Until there is some thread of scientific reasoning behind this hypothesis, other than berating those who ask for a simple explaination, it should be completely disregarded. If my above statement makes anyone angry, then so be it. It needed to be said in order to keep the sanctity of actual science in tact with regards to meteorological forecasting.
