Srain
Our local board was contacted this morning looking for requests of interviews by TWC. Dr. Neil Frank, being the trooper and friend that he is, did the interview scheduled to be aired on September 9th.
jasons
Some interesting tidbits about Carla I have learned over the years: * ImpactWeather rates Carla as the worst US hurricane using a scale that measures both size and intensity. * At the time, it was the largest peacetime evacuation in US History. * The surge from Carla was so incredible, there were reports of water up to the rooftop of the Brazoria County courthouse, which is in Angleton - about 15 miles inland and well NE of the landfall location. * Carla produced the first live television broadcast of a hurricane. The report was submitted by a then little-known local Houston reporter named Dan Rather.
