aslkahuna
A X2.2 Proton Flare occurred at 06/2220Z. Proton flux at >10MeV is enhanced. More data later. This follows a M5.3 event earlier in region 1283 center on the Central Meridian. Steve

aslkahuna
Update: A slow full halo CME occurred with the earlier M5.3 flare with a speed of 450 km/sec. The Stereo observations indicate that most of the CME went north of the ecliptic plane. The Proton enhancement was due to the M5.3 flare while the X2 event was a 740 sfu 10Flare with a Castelli U type radio burst. Region 1283 was the source of the M5.3 at 0146Z but no region has been assigned for the X2 event yet. Steve

aslkahuna
X1.8 event in progress at this time. X-Ray imagery suggests 1283 is the source. No other data yet available. Steve
aslkahuna
Update: the radio burst data on the fixed frequencies show a Castelli U profile and a 1300 sfu 10Flare. We will probably see additional enhancement of the >10 and >100 MeV proton flux levels to close to or even at Category 1 event levels. We are also likely to see a CME from this event.
