Eyewall, out of curiosity, where were you in SW Durham County when you got those pics? That's fairly close (as in a few miles) to MBY, as we're in Tuscaloosa-Lakewood, a couple miles southwest of downtown just off US 15/501. If you see the Lakewood weather station on Weather Underground, we're less than a half-mile from that.

Solid line about to move through Raleigh and surrounding areas. As for the recent TOR-warned storm, it

appears as though the strongest circulation happened between Hillsborough and Schley, between 140

and 145 PM EDT.

I was uo this way this evening for a job interview and saw no damage as well. It seems all radar signatures of a tornado were elevated.

Cool, thanks. That's about a mile from where we used to live (we were in the Hamptons off 54 very close to 55).

We're in a north-south slot of rain that's just running over us in Durham like a conveyor belt. Steady, hard rain and a good bit of lightning too. This looks like all the rain they were calling for us to get yesterday and earlier today that never materialized!

Absolutely chucking buckets here now. Will be interesting to see how filled up Cary Park lake gets with this storm and how many of my neighbors' basements flood.

Ouch! Let's hope that doesn't happen. I live near an easement and I just hope the day the big one comes, the sewer drain doesn't backup!

It does look like things are starting to wind down upstream though.

Just rained sooooo hard. I'm at 3.45" now and was at 2.30" 40 minutes ago.

So what's up with IGX? Radar estimates 4-5" for the area. It has rained buckets several times today. Yet the IGX totals around at a little over an inch and most of that was with this night's storm between 10 and 11. RDU is also showing low totals. Undercatch? But there's no wind.

although it's just now midnight you can look at today's obs at the weather station on the roof of ECHHS: http://weather.weatherbug.com/weather-safety/online-weather-center/OnlineWeatherCenter.aspx?aid=2434

It's still underdone, and yes it has rained a ton. Not sure.... but 3.5" ish is still a lot of rain. What do you think?

10.1" in my gauge here at the house...due to the longevity of this storm plus drought conditions the flash flooding was not as bad as say May 2003...though there were certainly quite a few impacts.

My sister who lives in Canton was in the path of the EF1...roof damage and numerous trees down in her house but all were safe and sound....A few pics from around east side of Chatt....Pic 1 is East Brainerd Rd at Jenkins; Pic 2 is Gunbarrel Rd near the mall; Pic 3 is Heritage Park.

I only had 1.84" which is a relative lull for the area but I will take it. Western parts of the county only had less than .80"

Only ended up with 1.84", but it was definitely enough to make everything green again.

:P
