Haven't had much time of late but it was a total screwjob here. Only a few hundredths here. Truly remarkable you could have a tropical storm make landfall in La, and take a track like this one and end up with virtually nothing. This one would have to become the 1 and 100 storm that becomes extratropical at the point it did and at this time of year too boot, which of course means most of the rain is to the north and nw of the center. To say it was sickening is an understatement...especially after models were painting a few inches (until a few runs before hand where the nam/gfs correctly showed the screwjob coming for areas south of 85) and hpc even more.

The only positive was seeing a supercell yesterday move nearby which was clearly rotating. It did have a tornado warning with it and radar even suggested some hail which was truly remarkable I thought given the airmass. There was no damage from it that I know of and all I got from it was some 15mph breezes. Not even a drop (missed me by, I don't know, a mile?)

Just adding salt to the wound...mom's been in the hospital for a week with some strange illness they can't seem to figure out and I broke a toe yesterday too (stumped it while on the phone and being in a rush). Sigh. :axe:

Bummer - hope your mom is ok (and your toe recovers)

Total bust here - I barely cracked one inch (1.16). Figured we wouldn't get 7 but thought a good 2-3 inches at least. Sigh

This map is way off. It shows me getting about 2.5", and I ended up with exactly 4 inches. In fact, every rainfall map i've seen has underestimated the rainfall here.

Actually the stations that report on that map are very accurate. Guess you were just in a better spot yesterday. Those were not "estimated" rainfall amounts but actual observations that were recorded.

Ouch. Hard to believe I almost doubled your total. Usually you do much better.

I ended up with 1.96" total.

what's worse is after looking at those maps higher amounts were close sigh. Waited for the heavier steady rain all day. Stopped less than a county away

We busted the other way here. My storm total is 11.33 inches and it is still raining. The winds gusted to 45 mph last night. The power is still out. Most schools are closed.

Yep! Awesome storm here in Dalton,GA! We had over 10 inches of rain (in less than 24 hours!) Winds gusting well over Tropical Storm Force causing trees to come crashing down on the lines! Power/Cable/Internet all went out yesterday evening around 8:30! Just got cable/internet back on but Power still out. Using generator now (thanks to the past few winters making me pay the money to get one.) Hopefully the power is back on soon. The trucks are in the area I see. The sharp gradient reminds me a lot of how things have gone the past few winters with our area hitting the major jackpot on these events for sure.

Columbus had about .6 inches of rain while Auburn, AL, 40 miles to our west, picked up almost 3 inches of rain! That band just sat over east central Alabama and moved into areas just west of Atlanta... I was watching it all day, along with the numerous tornado warnings cutting in a few different times, and was like this HAS to move east... Well, it did! Just not before the heaviest activity went to our north haha!

Oh, I guess this could be a Lee ob... It's now 61 degrees here and it feels fantastic with a ton of low level clouds to hopefully keep this cool air here for a while ;):D

1.57 here as of 7am this morning. got another .10 so far from the drizzle. hoping to round it out to 2 inches but don't think that'll happen. Not sure if this has been posted, but a Cocorahs observer in La Fayette reported 10 and one in Ringold reported almost 9.

Weather radio just went off here all of western NC and some SC counties.. Uh oh.. tornado watch until 8pm.

Maps and Info coming soon (not out yet)

Sun is coming out here, dont like the looks of this.

I am worried about the sun coming out, too. It's already warm here for the morning. The sun coming out will just make things even more unstable.

Ended up with 3.40 inches storm total...while not the 6-10 that was originally predicted, it was still a good rain that caused no flooding issues. Our totals really racked up yesterday evening once we truly went upslope flow. Currently, breezy skies and clouds flying from south to north, 74 degrees.
