downeastnc Posted September 4, 2011 Author Share Posted September 4, 2011 Wow the center looks to pass right over this bouy and the numbers say she is at least a Cat 2 http://www.ndbc.noaa...p?station=41044 Sustained 71.9 knts gusting to 91.3 knts and the friggen pressure at the bouy is 968mb which is quite a bit lower than the projected 987mb the NHC had at 5am. 25N 65W is the benchmark if this thing stays south of that then the chances of a east coast landfall go up significantly IMO, this of course doesnt gaurantee a hit in fact plenty of storms that go south of this point miss however storms that go north of this point almost all have recurved.
