Grothar of Herndon
I have one, but apparently it's too close to the house and may have some runoff rain in the gauge. It shows 8" for the whole event. Can't be right. I'll move it to the middle of the yard for the next storm. Checked weatherunderground for Falls Church. Shows 3.82" of rain today. 4.26" at the house before this last deluge. I am guestimating 1 to 1.5" here in the past hour.

Ellinwood
Good amount of IC lightning... plenty of thunder. Pretty good view of the SSW from my apartment... not seeing anything terribly special at the moment (waiting for that cell to the S).

EastCoast NPZ
Wow, this is just incredible listening to the reports of the massive rainfall amounts for people east of the blue ridge the last two days. I haven't seen a drop of rain in 36 hours. Having some rain gauge issues, so I don't have a confident total from Sunday thru early AM Tues, but it is between 2 and 3 inches. Seems like there are many reports of people to the east picking this up in little more than an hour. It's just amazing how the precip continually finds a way to bypass the shenandoah valley. ThreeRedheads
4.26" at the house before this last deluge. I am guestimating 1 to 1.5" here in the past hour. I emptied and moved my rain gauge to the middle of the yard at 2:45. We'll see what the new readings are. I took some photos through the screen on my porch, so the quality isn't that great:

From the time stamp till now we are up to 5". Our water management ponds, our front, that just barely had water in them 2 are full and the other 2 are half full.
