I have one, but apparently it's too close to the house and may have some runoff rain in the gauge. It shows 8" for the whole event. Can't be right. I'll move it to the middle of the yard for the next storm.

Checked weatherunderground for Falls Church. Shows 3.82" of rain today. unsure.gif

4.26" at the house before this last deluge. I am guestimating 1 to 1.5" here in the past hour.

Wow, this is just incredible listening to the reports of the massive rainfall amounts for people east of the blue ridge the last two days. I haven't seen a drop of rain in 36 hours. Having some rain gauge issues, so I don't have a confident total from Sunday thru early AM Tues, but it is between 2 and 3 inches. Seems like there are many reports of people to the east picking this up in little more than an hour. It's just amazing how the precip continually finds a way to bypass the shenandoah valley.
