(to Yoda and mattie g) I know you weren't referring to me, but I have one... I just live in an apt complex, so no real place to put it without it getting stolen. But the Timonium Wunderground Station has 2.96 for today and that's not too south of me. So I'll go with that.
Ian
Looks like that is starting to happen over the VA capes that area looks pretty primed for decent/more discrete activity if it can keep developing. with the tendency for them to move se to nw already im not sure the flow is as good as last night (due s to n with a se surface wind), though the probabilities are lower as well. mattie g
How the heck can you guys not have rain gauges! I have two within a foot of each other just to make sure. (to Yoda and mattie g) My wife thought it was sad enough that I slipped in a wireless weather station on our wedding registry. Seriously, though, I usually don't get too geeked up over rain events, so I don't worry about it much. Not being a science guy, having a gauge would satisfy random curiosity more than anything. (to Yoda and mattie g) I have one, but apparently it's too close to the house and may have some runoff rain in the gauge. It shows 8" for the whole event. Can't be right. I'll move it to the middle of the yard for the next storm. Checked weatherunderground for Falls Church. Shows 3.82" of rain today.
