Mrs.J
Have the window open up here. Have to admit it is nice to hear the low rumbles and the rain. Granted we are not getting the downpours like some of you to my East are so I can have it open.

Jns2183
That would be a major yes about messing up those maps. The harrisburg area is basically an unfolding diaster. Kids trapped in schools with all roads to and from flooded out, etc Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk

Ian
that area just ne of frederick has been screwed unless it's the radar (which i think it partly is, at least underestimated).

H2O
the radar is wrong--we are over 2.5" out here and it doesn't show up. it isn't for the entire event. agree. only tried to give a snapshot of the heavier rains so far today.

NorthShoreWx
... heat lightning ... There is nothing wrong with the term. It isn't a special kind of lightning. It is a descriptive term representing the point of view of the observer. Edit: Mods, feel free to move to the other thread.

HIPPYVALLEY
Wow, possible disaster unfolding if these rains keep up. I hope you folks don't get as bad as W. NE was last week w/ Irene but that radar looks menacing. What I saw up here was once we got over 3+" in a few hours the streams and rivers started going up exponentially and quickly. The topography is a big factor up there. We won't see VT type flooding from this.

TradeWinds
i know it's not for the entire event but i thnik there is still a local min of some sort near frederick looking at other radars The radar is off some. Frederick will likely end up with the "lowest" award but I have 2.25" in my gauge since Saturday. won't fully cure our drought but better than what Texas is going through.
