yak
Schuylkill River at Reading was pretty impressive at 20.4 feet and appears to be cresting (3rd highest on record). I was walking along the bridge as a family approached walking their dog. Ten feet in front of me, the dog decided to take a flying leap into the flood waters and got washed down stream. Parents and little girl freaked out and most people who didn't see it happen thought a person had fallen in. This freaking luckiest dog in the world got washed into the treetops and managed to scramble for safety. Whew...

Jim Marusak
looks like the river is crested in wilkes barre at 39ft. still quite dangerous. let's hope the dikes hold until we can bring that back down to 22. according to reports on wnep a couple of mins ago, an ammonia tank has broken away from a food processing plant, causing evacuations in sections of southern bloomsburg that haven't already been evacuated. all this, and the bloomsburg fair is 2 weeks away. Jns2183
I work for a small business handling all their accounting, finances, and administration stuff. We have vending, amusement, and pool tables at about 45 or so locations from Lancaster to york to harrisburg to Sunbury. Most of them bars and restaurants and about 20 or so at least now with flood damage. Very happy right now that I convinced them to add a very good flood insurance package to their commercial insurance package. Now I have to start working on the 20+ claims that I will have plus find information on what pema or fema could cover. It's going to be a long few months dealing with endless insurance crap and mountains of paperwork, but I still feel blessed I will have a job and Ironically make more because of all the extra work Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk

sauss06
Crest predictions for Hburg back down to 26.5. Crest time pushed back till this evening around 8pm. Yeah, i was thinking this morning it didn't appear that it had risen much from when i was at it last night. The creeks near us that feed into were very impressive last night, i'll try and get some photos uploaded later this evening. Though i know the people who live along the Susky's banks realize the chance their taking, my heart still sank for them as we watched the people on the western side moving their belongings last evening. With the road blocked off from vehicles and little train traffic on the railroad, my daughter was able to get the same impact as i did when my father took me to the same spot during Agnes. The sights are one thing, but the sound of the water rushing by, you can feel the power.. a quick shout out to all the Emergency responders......they are doing a stellar job and very bad conditions. Most volunteer. The crew across the street my house has been at for severel days straight.. and good luck Canderson, i'll be wishing the best for you down in Da big city

Jns2183
Here's a shot of where my road hits Front Street in North Harrisburg, obviously the Susky is receding . It seems it is at Harrisburg and Sunbury. It is still rising at Bloomsburg and Danville, which are north of Sunbury, so I have no idea how that will affect the levels down south here. Looks like the West Branch has dropped significantly while the North Branch is still rising below Wilkes-Barre. I'd imagine that for Sunbury and points south that means the river will only very slowly fall or hold steady for the next day or two.
