sauss06
Tractor trailer makes it through floodwaters. Looks like it's by Hershey park. yesterday on the news, they showed a TT down in York somewhere , who sped up and barreled through the water, which looked like it was 6' high. he should have been arrested. CT Rain
WNEP providing superb live coverage online right now. They really are phenomenal. Looks like the Susquehanna in Meshoppen is above forecast and now nearly 1' above Agnes.
canderson
Pretty sure I was one of the final cars allowed to cross the Harvey Taylor INTO Harrisburg just now. Cops at each end of the bridge setting up barriers. The river, she's angry.

canderson
Can anyone confirm the Harvey Taylor closure? I crossed it 10-15 minutes ago and it was open. I crossed into Hartisburg, but open both ways. Can't exit to Front Street though.
canderson
Also, not sure if any WGAL staffers visit here. If so, I want to say 1) thank you and 2) you have far exceeded any other media by an unmeasurable amount today. WGAL has been on live since early, early this morning. That's incredible. AlexP
Yes, Kudos to WGAL. They've been my primary source of info all day at work. I live in midtown Harrisburg outside of the evacuation zone, so my primary concern is having an open road to get there from Camp Hill.
canderson
Midtown here too - Hamilton @ 4th. We went to Giant to buy water and non-perishable stuff in case we're stranded for a few days with no power. We saw UGI crews at Reuky @ 3rd shutting off gas mains. Tomorrow I'll go take fun photos and get arrested!

Jim Marusak
WBRP1 37.96 at 20:00 UTC that's about 300,000 cubic feet/sec of streamflow. let's hope those dikes hold.
canderson
If this were winter and snow, MDT since Sunday (with a typical 10:1 ratio) would have received basically 150" or so of snow. Think about THAT for a minute!

djr5001
For those with travel questions... "The Pennsylvania Turnpike is closing between the Harrisburg East Interchange #247 and Reading Interchange #286" Not sure if this was mentioned previously but word is Lower Paxton and Susquehanna Townships will have water shut off at 6pm. ABC27 mentioned it and I was just wondering if anyone knew of any other sources to confirm this.

Think about THAT for a minute! Hurricane Ginny in 1963, struck Newfoundland as a Category 2 and resulted in reports of up to 18 inches of snow in Maine. Because it was an Atlantic system, it didn't have that same moisture that Lee carried along with it. BUT, snow from a hurricane would indeed be pretty cool. EasternUSWX
OK, thanks. I'll post back when I hear from her. If she can't cross it, I guess she'll have to stay with one of our friends somewhere over in Camp Hill or Silver Spring Township. She was smart this morning and took a change of clothes, food, toothpaste, etc. with her to work in case she was stranded. Hey I am in town. I messed you. Wow it is a mess here. Festus
Heard that Safe Harbor dam is opening more flood gates and warning all downstream interests. Weird thing is they expect peak cfs (cubic feet/sec) to be 778,000 Saturday while the record is just over 1,000,000 cfs during Agnes. Now if the crest at Marietta will be just about 2 feet shy of '72, why wouldn't the cfs numbers be closer? Also says about 20' of water going over Holtwood at the moment. I've seen that place with 8' going over and it was absolutely thundering. Can't fathom 20.
