Pawatch have you seen the loyalsock??? It's downright scary right now!!

I was down that way earlier.

My son lives down in Montourville. I was down helping him with water in his basement. He's out of the flood, just ground water problems.

My sump pump has been running about 18 hours straight.

KMDT set there daily rainfall record before 8 a.m.. this morning. It was only 1.18".

Some of the embedded storms are taking more of a NNW turn as they move north of D.C. South of D.C. they are moving due N or slightly NNE. Also starting to see radar returns from Delaware and Jersey moving due NW. It just seems like its all converging on the Susq Valley.

What's the record daily rainfall for Binghamton? If I am adding correctly, they're right at 7" for the day?!

I was browsing the daily records for Binghamton and i didn't see any totals near the insanity of this evenings rain. The highest totals i saw I believe were in the 3.5" or so range.

Look out my friend. The worst may be yet to come tonight.

Could you imagine if this had targeted our region like what had been forecasted the last couple days up until yesterday eve?

Thoughts further north? The situation with the Susquehanna is worrying...

Nearly the same situation I'm afraid, but not AS bad as further south.

Radar looks increasingly dire for the whole Susquehanna Valley region...from Carlisle to Reading and all point north, south, and in between.

Ugly, ugly, ugly. Anybody close to Hershey is really in bad shape.

It was interesting to watch the Euro with this event. It was pretty solid in forecasting the nasty band to our east. The nam and gfs pounded us up until yesterday like you said.

If I heard correctly MDT has set a record but I can't find the daily or event total on my phone. I'm interested to see how the heavy rain north impacts the crest here - I'd assume it has to go higher since that heavy rain this long north want completely forecast (to be this extensive).

Record event report for KMDT: http://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=NWS&issuedby=MDT&product=RER&format=CI&version=1&glossary=0

Take a look at this folks, bad night ahead. http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/PCPN/DATA/spe/201109080300.gif

Checking out radar - I'm scared. That's a huge amount of yellow/red heading straight for the Susq Valley basin. :(

I know it is sad in a way, but look at it this way. The flood threat that is shaping up might be your once in a 500yr event, especially for Binghamton. Even if this flood destroyed my home, as long as I had flood insurance I wouldn't care. Just the CHANCE to live a weather weenies wet dream of a storm would be worth it. You will look back at this event and you will be able to tell your grandchildren that you lived through this incredible event, and when you show them the height of the crest they will call you senile

Somehow I don't think you actually mean losing your entire house would be fine just for a good story in a few years....

In other news, the Hershey hydrograph is stunning.

My prioblem is my sisters house burned to the ground this week in Texas, and my best friend's did too. In separate fires. 50 miles apart.

My parents have had 6" rain this year and the lake they live on is bone dry. I've now had like 54" for the year and I can hear a raging river from my doorstep.

It's all historic, but it's maddening how unfair this all is. And there (for then at least) is no end in sight.

Be safe guys and I hope no one suffers any losses from this historic, crazy event!

sure why not? You only live once, you can always rebuild. I guess I'm just the ultimate weather weenie. But I also think it would be cool to experience a VEI 6-7 and to have a year without a summer and global temps drop a few degrees :snowman: :snowman:

KCXX was down from about 1 am till 7 am this morning so it missed out on 6 hrs of pretty good rain.

Yea CCX was also running its total precip since earlier Sunday before it went down last night. There already had been alot of yellow/red in the Sus Valley (2-4") before this insanity showed up today. Just staggering rainfall amounts...
