JamieOber
This is from a service called "Help a Reporter Out" that I subscribe to. Reporters from different publications post here looking for sources. As you can see, this person has a bit of a skewed idea on weather forecasts. The way this works is you send an email to the address below, and meet their request. I thought this would be an opportunity to talk about the science and maybe clear up a myth. 23) Summary: Why weather forecasts wrong? Name: judy dutton mental Floss Category: General Email: <a href="mailto:[email protected]" target="_blank" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 204); ">[email protected] Media Outlet: mental Floss Deadline: 7:00 PM EST - 2 September Query: Why are weather forecasts so often wrong, and what are scientists doing to improve their accuracy? I'd love to interview scientists who are improving the accuracy of weather forecasts. Please email me a bit about what you've done or are doing to improve forecasts and a phone number where I can reach you for follow-up questions. Thanks so much!
