It was a terrible winter though the hills actually salvaged a merely bad/terrible winter versus a historically horrific winter like some of the lower spots did. There were a few elevation events...esp in March 2002.

Nina falls are frequently warm, but they don't have to be. I'll be interested to see October. September I'm feeling is going to have a hard time coming in negative.

I shudder to think of it.

I remember the October was really warm. Going for runs through Southampton/Westhampton wondering when the colder air would start arriving. I hope I never have to deal with a winter like that again.

Meanwhile, the rain's finally slackened here. Looks like we might get a little break before the batch entering Lenox winds its way up here.

I'm a little scared of it. It might talon me in the eye or something...(actually, it is gone, or quit hooting for a while). We get them pretty often. Mice?

As far as the rain, it is not moving east very much...

Lol.

The line doesn't appear to be moving east at all. In fact, it looked to me like it retreated back west a bit, but that might be my eyes playing tricks.

Meanwhile, the rain has picked up again and what had been advancing hole appearas to be filling in. Or at least might be. I'm not going to be up much longer, but I'm curious to see what the guage has come 5:00a.m. when I return.

Have a good night, all.

I think warmth will come back after these cool shots...usually do in a Nina. Sometimes October is warm too, but I'm not sure which way I'm leaning for that month yet. But I will say that I'll be fairly surprised if September finishes below avg temp-wise as the pattern just doesn't look to support that right now.

More than likely. The pendulum will swing back and forth as the seasons change and we head for the transition to a cold regime. Normal stuff. I don't get to upset if it's warm in September. I'll grow impatient if it persists into October though this go 'round i think we'll see a standard issue drop in temps. Good Winter ahead I believe.

Wow was totally ignorant on this, just hanging at the fire, beautiful night, saw this and said huh?

I'd say easily over 4" by noon tomorrow, perhaps more. Rivers were already high for the time of year and are now raging once again. Thundering waterfall outside the windows sounds cool but a bit unnerving.

Keene has been pounded in the last 24 hours. My parents said they had multiple rounds of thunderstorms with very heavy rain last night, and now continuing to get moderate rain near the front. Up to 3" in the last 24 hours when I last talked to them around 10pm

There's some type of forcefield between keene and MHT

check radar

Humidity shumidity.......who cares about that when it's 65*?

It's time to call a spade a spade, Kevin. Cool, wet weather is what it is.

54/53 LOL, forget it, he has little credibility. Funny how he gets smacked down immediately by Scooter. Coastalwx is the one to listen to all 4 seasons. Some nice cool, weather ahead Mike. I wouldn't be surprised if we top a half a foot of rain by the weekend, perhaps more.
