yesterday was an awful day. Really crappy weekends except for Labor Day weeken since the beginning of August. Hopefully after this cooldown late this week we bounce back up to the 80s again and get a much deserved extended summer
This was a TOP 15th hottest summer.I had my hottest day in my lifetime, the 42 consecutive days of igh temps in the 80s was also up here in the top,Except for a nice couple of days after Irene,it has been muggy,The first half of Sept is going to to be warmer than normal despite the clouds and the rain at times and the way you carry on you would think this was the coldest wettest summer on record.I am looking foward to the lower temps and dewpoints later on this week.I have not stopped sweating profusely this entire month.I work in the SUbways and it is like an oven down there during the late spring through early autumn.Instead of being a landscaper, perhaps you should take a test and work where I do.There ae platforms that have reached over 140 degrees.I believe you would love that.

Yeah I love days like yesterday. It didn't rain but was still a good day for outside activities as long that didn't include sun tanning :-)

Also as far as the upcoming "cold" shot, it looks like one day ...Friday...where we stay below 70, with a rebound into the 70s by the weekend and possibly warmer beyond though the interior will surely have several nights in the 40s.

good news, nws is already bumping up those highs already for the weekend so maybe only 60s on Friday and back into the 70s with a great late summer beach weekend on tap

Hmmm... Looks like the lowered it here for Newark. Now mainly 60's with maybe 70 for Sunday. Upper 40's now forecasted for Saturday night. May actually turn out to be a few degrees cooler then what's being forecasted at this time.

Overall, a warm summer, but I would imagine you feel a little bit like you were left at the alter after the first week of August, no?

I see it as a great summer. It was real, real hot the first half. 108 F is ridiculous...but awesome. We had a ton of 90 F temps. The second half sucked but it wasn't like it was 70 F each day. Temps were near average.

Pretty much like the last few winters which have had empty second half's after roaring starts.

Yeah these next two days should essentially close the book on mid to upper 80s temps. It was a good run...and another nice hot summer.

I dont know. Both the Euro and the GFS show a ridge building in the day 9-10 timeframe. Temps can reach 80++, if that ridge in fact builds; especially the way the euro portrays it.

Definitely. Summer always has one last hurrah, late in September or even into October. Maybe not upper 80s but at least in the 83-85 range

Yeah can't complain at all. Amazing first half, then after August 1st it went downhill, but still plenty warm. I'd rather half the first half better anyway, as I'm back to college in mid August.

I think I ended up with a bit less than 20 90F days. 50% of the summer of 2010.
