Models seem to be all over the place in terms of the timing and intensity of the rain. Flood watches are up, Upton says most of the rain falls tonight and tomorrow. Mt Holly has rain most of the week for central/NW NJ. Seems like we should just expect a shower at almost any time from this afternoon through at least tomorrow night.

Yeah looks like a pretty lousy week for kids to go back to school.

Temperature has been holding steady at 68 degrees here all morning. Hasn't budged. Different world over there I see.

Nice warm start to labor day but unfortunately clouds and showers will be quick to arrive. Temps already near or in the low 80s. Many places made it to 88/89 yesterday with only isolated 90 degree readings - none at the official stations. Clouds and rain may be the story most of this week after being very lucky to have 8 days of no rain. Guidance split but implying the brunt of the heaviest rain from a lingering front and 'Lee' should stay west.

Had moderate to very heavy downpours since noon here in the Poconos. Just west of Sussex County NJ. Around 1.50 of rain for the day so far.

Temp is 60 degrees, front has moved through. Feels amazing outside right now, No humid/tropical feel to the air at all.

Front is between you and I here in SE Sussex County. Still humid but temps into the upper 60's. Little less total rain thus far but up to 0.84" at this time.

You will feel a nice difference once that front swings through, temp down to 59 now in my area. Last I saw, the front was making it's way through Sussex County, should be on your door step soon.

Also looks like some heavy rain bands working their way up into your area. They just missed me to the southeast.

Yes it is close it seems and perhaps just going through or just went through. Winds to light in my sheltered location to note a wind shift but temp dow to 65 and DP 63 with pressure rising slowly. Decent rain the past hour or so. Up to 0.99".

Feels great! Last night was in the low 70's at this time. hizz hell with that man.

Boy, this thread sure does get quiet when all the action is west near us huh?

Anyways, it's going to be a very interesting couple days for Nepa,Nw Nj, and the Western Hudson Valley. We gotta see how far east the heaviest rains will make it.

Things arent looking to pretty up here. Still quite a few roads closed from either sinkholes or flooding.

Glad to see you posting more here in American instead of that "bootleg" board where their star "MET" is Steve D.. smh lol

Shocked you only have a little over an inch (more now I bet). I'm at 2.04" in Andover and still raining moderately with plenty more upstream on the radar. K12N (NWS Andover) has had 2.11" today (as of their last ob) so pretty big gradient between Andover and Sparta which are adjacent towns. Going to be some local flooding issues for sure around here but hoping the bigger rains stay out of the Passaic and Pompon basins as those poor people do not need any rising waters now that those rivers have finally begun to recede.

Funny how that works. Just natural to be more interested when directly affected. Tonight through early tomorrow is our sure thing. An additional ~1-2" on top of the 1-2" that has fallen as of now. Later tomorrow through Wednesday you are correct in that the final placement of the heaviest axis will be key to if we just get a real soaker or a truly excessive event. NWS PHI just issued a flash flood warning for several NW NJ counties till ~ 2AM.

Ahh I hear ya man, I just have been on the other site from day one it's always home to me. Sometimes the people can get on my nerves, but I dont let it bother me. Since that issue last winter with you and I against them, I keep my guard up.

My biggest issue on this site is, what freaking area to post in! lol

I'm sandwiched between, Upstate NY/Pennsylvania,Philly,or NYC threads. That is why it sucks sometimes living 5-10 min from NJ and 20 from Ny State. Hard to choose a location to post in.

Other than that, it's nice to see a board pretty much constantly active.

Your right. I honestly think we get in on some pretty heavy rains tomorrow night and Wed.

By the way, looks like Mt holly just issued a flash flood warning for Sussex County.

Yep 0.47" in the past hour and total now at 1.42". Quick look at early hours of 0z NAM show heaviest rains actually across areas to our SE through much of first 18 hours of the run. Not sure I see that at least to that degree based on the slow to almost none existant eastward movement of the steadier rains. See what the remainder of the run shows. Still think the heaviest rains later tomorrow onward will be west of the Delaware but amounts of 1-4" still possible into at least northern and western sections of NJ.

Looks like a whiff so far for areas east of Morris Co in New Jersey. The short term models have another area of very heavy rain tracking northeast over the same areas over the next 6-12 hours, and the NAM/WRF have very sharp cutoffs to the east and southeast.

It will be interesting to see if the rain can work east towards the city or if they will be left, comparatively, high and dry.

Yeah, there isn't much eastward progression with the main rainfall shield behind the front. It is more like embedded pockets of rainfall developing along and ahead of the front for areas in NJ.
