lol. I don't know what's worse SnowNH's posts or Josh feeling compelled to state the obvious.

Sorry, dude, but all kinds of whacked-out things are posted in this subforum all the time, so it's not aways clear how much this regional audience understands. But I don't blame you guys for this. Actual hurricanes are such an *extreme* rarity here, literacy is bound to be extremely low.

FYI, 00z GFS is rolling in with a much flatter trough that doesn't even phase with Lee, so the westerlies are notably further north, and the whole evolution is vastly different from the last few runs.

But then some big time energy flies out of Ontario to kick it out. That stupid vortex to the north is killing it from moving nw.

Probably, but we're not done with the myriad possibilities of synoptic evolutions. Complex interaction between multiple troughs, TD Lee, and Katia

We're running out of time for the overall synoptic pattern to change significantly. The euro was not far off from something more interesting, but the pattern just seems hostile for allowing this to come close.

Sam Lillo! You are so close to me now in Keene. Haven't been up there yet but can't wait. You aren't back at school yet?

Ahh, sorry I haven't changed my location on here. I moved back to Plymouth the day before Irene hit. If you can, definitely try to come to Keene for Pumpkin Festival (late October)

Agreed, we're out of time Sunday I think. Interesting but a miss aside of big swells which limit offshore boating aside of Cape Cod Bay and protected areas.

It's producing swells that are limiting boating by midweek..... it is what it is, by Sunday midday time to write it off entirely

I'm no expert...I had Irene pegged for the Carolinas, then east of the cc canal, so I have been wrong before and will be again, but this won't be one of those times. lol

I don't think there is a sub-forum here on American that has a more astute group of individuals than the SNE forum. We are fortunate to count some of the best and brightest as members. We really need no outside help though your participation, while thoroughly condescending, is certainly welcome.

Whether you welcome it or not is hardly relevant to my decisions Re: where and what I post. But thanks.

Pete, Josh is not at all condescending, though he may have presented himself in that particular light just then...you can't blame him for feeling that way. I think he maybe guilty of employing a generality, but since I know him, I highly doubt that he meant to be condescending.

Thanks, Ray. :) I like talking hurricanes with you and also Steve and ORH and CoastalWx.

I know Josh from his posts and while I feel he is probably a perfectly pleasant individual you must admit that his stated goal of saving us from our own stupidity is a bit arrogant no?lol I like Josh and hope he posts more here but he really doesn't need to start with instructing us that a Cat1 or cat2 hurricane is worse than a TS. Well, on second thought, maybe SnowNH needs some extra tutoring and all of us have lost patience. Josh, you've got a lot of work to do, better get crackin'.

I know what you mean...I find myself thinking the same thing regarding southern posters' musings about snow.

Gotta try to contain those prejuidices, but it's tough.

Of course they really haven't a clue so it's not really prejudice as much as clear perception. Thank god this thing looks to miss us. I know people from NYS to VT to SNE that are still trying to pull it together after Irene. Another direct hit would be terrible.

I apologize if I seemed condescending. I do think there are a lot of knowledgeable posters here. I'm glad we worked through this and we're all friends.

Right...well...

1) I suggested that he may have prsented himself in that light.

2) We prob do have more SnowNH's relative to the tropics, than the southern posters do...all I meant.

NBD....I know why you reacted in that manner.
