Woke up at 5:30 am and I admit it, I actually got cold! It felt great LOL. It was 53 with a good breeze. Wonderful. Going to take advantage of it and cut some wood today, it's put me in the mood for it.

Still though, I sure wish it would rain. The lakes are back down to the level they were a couple of months ago and it's dry as a bone here.

I do have to say that it is 1:30 in the afternoon and my temp is only 62 degrees

EDIT: OMG! I'm over 1000 posts....lol.....I don't think I made that many posts in all those years at that other place

What a beautiful day. Low DP's, Low Temps, by far the coolest day and night of the season so far, we are five degrees behind yesterday. I anticipate it will be hard to break 70 again today. There is a solid cloud deck today. The NWS has lowered the forecast high for today down to 72. I think that is still a tad too high..

What a perfect day to watch Georgia Tech destroy the Jayhawks!! On my way to the stadium shortly!!

Well it looks like you broke 70. It's 74 in Marietta currently.

Wow, it was actually mostly sunny and kinda hot today at the stadium. What a turn around from a cloudy and cool start to the day.

Ran my first triathlon this morning, and froze for the first part of it. My bike computer said 58 just before the swim segment; the water was probably almost 20 degrees warmer. As soon as I got out, the wind and 60 degree temps were brutal.

Even when I got home at 11, it was only in the mid-60s. Sun finally poked through a bit this afternoon and warmed things up, though. I'm really wondering where the heck summer went, though--I can't take temperature swings like this...

Up to 61 for a high today. 3° warmer than yesterday's afternoon temperature but still quite chilly. Just a passing sprinkle was all that occurred besides the occasional breeze. Already I can see a few trees around here beginning to change color at the top of them (few patches of yellow and orange). First time today that I had to toss on my black jacket to go outside. :shiver:

I got up to 77.8 under bright sun the whole day, so although I'd have liked it colder, it wasn't bad fall air against all that sun.

It has been so dry here, the leaves have been changing from summer green all month, and a lot have that dried up look to them already starting. Sure wish it would rain seriously for a change :) T

Holy Batman! Looks like someone was bored at Peachtree City ;) Just look at their AFD this morning! HAHA!

Anyway, they have some VERY good points about the CAD not holding up with the afternoon heating and a great look at the week ahead. They are agreeing with my assessment of the cut-off low developing somewhere over the Ohio River Valley. I'll be excited to this happen as we could see a broad area of at least 0.50" of rain for much of the southeast! Heck, I am forecasting off an on rain from about Tuesday early afternoon through at least Friday night for my area. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif Here's hoping this helps catch some of us up on our rainfall deficit!

I can't think of any one more deserving! That should have slammed shut those danged portals...at least for that day :) And maybe...maybe....you'll see some rain and no 90's this week! Probably hear you yelling all the way over here, lol.

Got to 74..it'll be far more comfy when it is highs in the 50's, but I'll take it today. Tony

 One day those highs will happen....one day  I've got my fingers crossed for some rain and goofy hasn't taken my showers away....yet  I will be a happy camper if I don't see 90's this week, after this cool weekend I'm ready for winter :snowman:

EDIT: Yes....I know it's sad to say mid 60's is cool :(

This cold air is causing the snakes to stir..one got in my house today.

Speaking of, this fine specimen showed up in my backyard... Mom took the picture and texted me simply asking what type of snake it was...my reaction: :yikes:

When she went back outside, said copperhead was gone. Keeping the cats inside has now become a life or death situation!

Mid-Atlantic record CHILL maximums on Saturday: Greensboro, NC =59; Raleigh-Durham =61; Richmond, VA =61; Washington, DC=64; Charlotte=66

Glad to see some records were broke with the cool airmass. I've been taking advantage the last few days working outdoors a lot...great weather, even though we missed the rains. Didn't get a drop here.

I wanted to add to nchighcountrywx's pic. This was during the morning hours on the 18th at 6000'.

Cut the grass, Jon! That will help some....and tell mom to not go back outside for another look :) That looks like the one that wandered by a few feet away while I was sitting on the porch. Guess he is a traveling snake, lol. T

@ 12:00 PTI is sitting at 66 degrees with a pretty solid deck of clouds. Havent seen 70 since last Thursday evening. Thinking we might squeeze out one more minus 70 degree day. 80 could be a reach the rest of the week, thanks to clouds. It'd be nice to say I want see 80 degerees again until next spring, but thats unlikely. I /we need some rain bad. Did alot of overseeding on the lawn and the pastures need it as well.

12Z GFS has totally gone away from the closed low on AR idea, by Friday and Saturday develops strong closed low in the GL/OH valley area. It breaks out .75-1.5 inches for basically everyone through Thursday, then the front goes by drying out GA, but showers continue in the Carolinas through Friday.
