CandymanColumbusGA
Being a Fla. boy, I figured you loved all these 90's and 100's you got this summer. From your post one could intuit you are looking forward to fall/winter, lol. Did you make 90+ the last few days? What is the record down in Columbus? Tony Nah... I enjoy the colder weather as much as anyone else here It's been pretty unbearable here in Columbus this summer... I'm not sure if we broke a record, pretty sure we did but don't want to say for sure without checking with NWS, but we saw 93+ degree temps from May 28 to June 22, with 5 100's mixed in. We went all of July without hitting 100 officially and then August came around and we hit it 100 twice August. Speaking of August, we hit 90+ EVERYDAY!!! Our average high temperature for the month: 96.3. I'm as ready for fall/winter as everyone else here.... trust me!!! Tight gradient indeed.... The crazy thing is: Columbus still hit 90 today
LithiaWx
First decent cold front of the season just plowed through Marietta. NW winds, temp went from 81 and humid down to 73, and much lower DP's in about an hour or two. I'm lovin it..
Solak
Maria's swell and the cold frontal passage could hamper work on Hatteras Island road reconstruction. Hatteras Island update

So now we need to get you a hurricane/trop. storm passing over head, and some golf ball hail (as long as your car is undercover, and you don't mind getting on your roof with a bucket of tar). Maybe we can get you some huge sleets this winter in lew of the hail Oh, and a blizzard. That is a must have for Ga. weather....absolutely nothing can compare with a blizzard in Ga.!! Temps are dropping now. 82 down from 85 at 4. T
FoothillsNC
I CANNOT wait for the cooler weather to get here! Our A/C went out on saturday & we decided against a recharge this late in the season plus we are replacing the unit after the holidays. if you don't want to spend a bundle, and just get something to tide you over, maybe consider the heat/AC combo unit . Its what I use now, but my house is very small, so a 12,000 BTU works ok. The heat from it last Winter was excellent, and really evened itself out in the rooms. In Summer, I use floor fans to blow the cooler air into the rooms. My power bill came down drastically when I switched, so I doubt I'll ever put an outside unit back in unless I add a room on, even though I still have the ductwork. The savings on electricity were just too great, plus the unit was only $500.00, compared to 5 grand for outside unit. First decent cold front of the season just plowed through Marietta. Temp went from 81 and humid down to 73 and much lower DP's in about an hour or two. I'm lovin it.. I'm ready for it. The front is about to go through here. Check out the upper 30's dewpoints in northwest TN and west KY. After the second hottest Summer in over 100 years , this will feel great.

Blue Ridge
Since noon, I've experienced continual drizzle and occasional light rain. Temperatures have crashed into the upper fifties, and fog blankets the mountains. It feels like a damp, cool, dark fall day - just the way I like it. blueheronNC
Have watched the flags on Bank of America stadium switch around from SW to N over the past 1 1/2 hours. Looks like CLT has switched their takeoff/landing pattern as the parade of planes coming into 23 has been replaced by takeoffs off of 36R. Horizon is also more obscured now under clammier air. Snowless in Carrollton
First decent cold front of the season just plowed through Marietta. NW winds, temp went from 81 and humid down to 73, and much lower DP's in about an hour or two. I'm lovin it.. This may be our first decent cold font of the season, but it won't be our coldest air of the season. Earlier this month I didn't get above 60 in the afternoon. I doubt it gets that cold this time. EmersonGA
I drove through the front leaving work. When I left it was in the 80s and pretty sunny. You could see the gray clouds up north. When I got to Delk Road the wind started howling and blowing leaves in my window. It got so dark that the street lamps came on. I don't know how much the drop was but it sure felt nice. From what I can see on the radar, Chapel Hill isn't getting much of anything either. It's just the drive to Chapel Hill that'll be a pain.
WidreMann
I'm surprised there are no FF warnings. Radar estimates of 2-3" in the last hour and a half or so along I-540. I've seen warnings go up for less.
Gastonwxman
Winds out here are really picking up every now and then with the frontal passage. You can feel the temperature out here dropping quickly. Feels terrific being out on the porch. Hit 84 for today (91 yesterday). Hopefully Wednesday marked the last 90 or above we'll see around here. It's nearly time for Autumn to settle in.
