winterwarlock
How long will the upcoming stretch of glorious weather last? Are there are any chances for late season heat? Will another tropical system threatend the eastern seaboard?

Weathergun
First fall airmass after Labor day? If that's correct, you can also say bye to future Katia. Although, there is plenty of time to watch, how things unfold.

That map clearly shows Katia way too north and the trough will recurve her sharply away from the east coast.

Brian5671
JB says Katia will likely have plans for somewhere on the East Coast, which means it will actually recurve out to sea ...there are some interesting analogs for two canes in a short period, 54, 55, 96, and 99. JB argued that the Typhoon going due north into Japan argues for another hit somewhere on the East coast in the next couple of weeks.

earthlight
Are there are any chances for late season heat? Highly doubtful if you ask me. We are going into a +PNA pattern by day 5 and although the ridging near greenland is not as strong---heights should be around average for this time of year in our 1/3 of the country. Juliancolton
I had to get up at 4:30 this morning because my generator died (still no power), and it was the clearest night I've seen all summer. Beautiful starry sky.

KEITH L.I
Might have to start tracking Katia as the weekend draws near if there is a trough on the east coast..forget it..unless she speeds up..say Monday north of the Bahama's..trough will be digging the middle of next week
winterwarlock
how does this weekend look...Im already pissed that they introduced a chance of showers for Thursday as Im attending the Rutgers football game that night. I see shower chances on Sunday and Monday. That would royally suck to have another crappy weekend.

Sundog
and you'll probably get your first freeze a month earlier than them too Getting to near or at freezing way before LGA is a lock. Typically on the first cold night I'll see frost in the neighborhood yet LGA will record a low of 39 or 40.
