cyclone77
Coolest day here since last spring. Only made it to 55 for a high with a solid overcast all day.
Hoosier
What are the limitations from more frequent reporting, aside from hourly. Do you know? I don't think there are any limitations but I'm not sure I completely understand what you're asking.
B-Rent
I don't think there are any limitations but I'm not sure I completely understand what you're asking. Why they only report the hourly ob. Not any more frequent than that. Even if just the Hi/Lo was reported with the time, instead of just being the 6 hr max. kab2791
This is what boredom does to you: PART TWO OF THE STORM WILL BE WITH INTENSIFYING TROWAL/DEFORMATIONZONE TONIGHT. UPWARD VERTICAL VELOCITIES ARE FORECAST TO BE ALMOST OFF THE CHARTS TONIGHT AS UPPER TROUGH CLOSES OFF INTO A NEGATIVELY TILTED CLOSED/COMPACT MID LEVEL LOW AS IT LIFTS NORTHEAST TOWARD SOUTHERN LAKE MICHIGAN BY EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. ALL INDICATIONS ARE THAT VERY INTENSE SNOWFALL WILL DEVELOP WITHIN THE DEFORMATION BAND WITH TREMENDOUSLY STRONG UPPER LEVEL DIFLUENCE AND DIVERGENCE AHEAD OF THE DEEPENING CYCLONE. FORECAST SOUNDINGS SUGGEST THAT VERY STEEP MID LEVEL LAPSE (NEARING 8C/KM) ASSOCIATED WITH THE VERY COLD TEMPS ALOFT WILL PROVIDE FOR SUFFICIENT INSTABILITY FOR EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP WITHIN THE TROWAL...LEADING TO LOCALLY ENHANCED SNOWFALL TOTALS. IN FACT...SEVERAL MODELS SUGGEST THAT MUCAPES OF 100-200 J/KG WILL DEVELOP WHICH MEANS WE COULD ACTUALLY SEE UPRIGHT CONVECTION DEVELOP.

SpartyOn
This is what boredom does to you: Now thats a good AFD. MUCAPE of 100-200j/kg in the dead of winter always yields something good. Wish we didn't get a dry slut with that storm. What really killed us here was flake size to0. Maybe this year..Wishing for Octobomb II and GHD Blizzard repeat. wisconsinwx
Some of the models (especially the NAM) look to give us our best rain since late July. It wouldn't take a ton to have that happen; 0.5" is our best single-day total since then.

IWXwx
I just had to make a post to show my allegiance with all of this football talk. It's a brisk 47 out there right now, but heading up to a partly sunny 72 this afternoon. So get out there and enjoy a beautiful early autumn Sunday. wisconsinwx
A nice soaking this afternoon and evening is ongoing. Should reach a half inch IMBY. Of course, as usual the official site for MKE, the airport, will probably report less due to its rain hole. Still, perhaps the best soaking since July.
